Trip Type: Family Review 16 of 38Gracious Comfort
The first room we were assigned was the "Carriage House" - small but comfortavle; however, there was no way to keep the bath water in the tub due to a faulty stopper. The management graciously moved us to s splendid room, "The Renaissance Room" at no extra charge the next morning. This was a beautiful accommodation. I felt that all the staff, from the cook to the waitstaff tried to be engaging, kind and helpful.

Trip Type: Romance Review 19 of 38Great Place - an Oasis in the City
The Britt Scripps Inn was a fabulous experience. The overall atmosphere was terrific with tasteful decorating and attention to detail. The breakfasts were delicious, hot and prepared to order. Our only complaint was that our room (Golden Oak) was adjacent to the kitchen so we were awakened early the first morning with the noise from the kitchen activity. Never the less, it did not dampen our enthusiasm for the inn and we will definitely visit again.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 22 of 38Perfect from the Ordinary Hotel
My girlfriend & I loved this place from the decor to the service. Breakfast was outstanding! My only recommendation would be to ask to be on the 2nd floor to avoid the foot traffic. If you want something out from the ordinary try Britt Scripps.

Trip Type: Romance Review 23 of 38Hidden Gem
My wife and I spent the last 2 days of our trip to California at the Britt Scripts Inn. I wanted to treat her to a little something special. It was definitely the right choice! The web site description does not begin to do justice to thgeir attention to detail. This house has been perfectly restored to it's full Victorian glory from the paint scheme outside to the phenonemal oak stairway complete with 2 story original stained glass windows. The furnishings were even more ornate than the home itself, if that is possible. It's proximity to the Balboa cultural park and the rest of the city was perfect. Everything was close yet when inside the house you felt like you were in the middle of a glorious estate and all alone in your own little world. In the afternoon they served wine, cheese & crackers. Make sure you allow time for the home cooked breakfast in the morning... it is to die for. A custom menu is printed up each day and when we asked if something was available that was not on the menu, they went out of their way to accomodate with absoloute perfection. If we are ever back in the San diego area we will most definitely be staying at the Britt Scripts Inn again. There is not enough room to say all the nice things that are to be said about this charming little peice of heaven.

Trip Type: Business Review 24 of 38Outstanding B&B
I stayed in the Garden Room and it was just superb. A huge room and good-sized bathroom, tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable. The Inn itself is breathtaking, in terms of its color scheme, restored old wood doors, stairway, stained glass window, etc. The garden is delightful. Our breakfast was substantial and delicious -- white chocolate/blueberry scones and one of the best ham and cheese omelets I ever had. The staff was courteous and friendly. It is quite centrally located, probably 10 minutes from the airport, and surprisingly quiet. I expect to making other business trips to San Diego in the next year and will always try to stay here.

Trip Type: Romance Review 29 of 38Attention to detail and friendly staff were beyond expectations
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We were given a tour of the house and were struck by the attention to detail the owner put into the restoration of this beautiful home, right down to the hings on the doors. Every room was wonderful! Our delicious breakfast was prepared by a very friendly chef. All of the staff members went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcomed, but we had our privacy as well. We found that the adjacent Balboa park made for delightful evening stroll. Loved our stay there....
