The part of the hotel that we were in had water damage to the ceiling (brown and sagging). The bathrooms and decor haven't been redone in many years (old tile and faucets, old furniture). The outside looks nice but I felt like I was in a cheap motel once I got inside.

Needs Improvement

If you're looking for a basic hotel room with the ability to sleep 8 and minimal cost this will fit the bill. The beds were very uncomfortable though and it was difficult to get to sleep as anyone who waled down the hall could be heard through the concrete floors.

Outstanding Hospitality

Wow! We like to travel with our kids during off peak season when it is more affordable to go as a family. The weather was terrific and there was so much to do, we need to go back and visit again! The hotel itself is dated, but clean. There was no heat in the rooms and the air temperature at night was chilly. We called the front desk and they sent maintenance over to look into it. When they determined that the water pipe heating system could not be turned on, they offered us a space heater which did the trick nicely for the remainder of our visit! The people at the front desk were more than happy to answer any questions and we enjoyed many of the resort pleasures for free like the paddle boats, chair lift rides, and they offer marshmallows for bait on the fishing poles they have available for you to use. Whatever you need - just ask, at the front desk! Marshmallows are available there! We will most certainly be going back again!

Good value for the money

The Boyne Highlands resort is in a lovely area, Harbor Springs and Petoskey very close. The resort itslef is very Bavarian a bit outdated but still nice. The hot tub behind our room was wonderful. Skip the Breakfast buffet at the main lodge. Lots of fun family friendly activities, great location. New comfortable beds, room is a bit small could really use some updates but fine for the cost.

This place is amazing!

Boyne Highlands far surpassed our expectations for a hotel at this price, mainly because it's not just a hotel, it's a resort! Friendly staff and well maintained grounds are a great example. A pool size whirlpool as well as free rides on the ski lift (in the summer) are another. A full buffet breakfast is included in the price of the hotel...we were genuinely amazed. I will definitely go again!

Fairytale setting

We thoroughly enjoyed it. My husband and I wanted a low key anniversary getaway and this was it. The original plan was to stay in Petoskey but the rate for the room at Boyne was the best. We could stay right at Boyne and be entertained or venture around to Harbour Springs, Petoskey, and Charlevoix. Boyne offers quite a bit for the summer season and we were pleasantly suprised!!!!

Need improvement

Took a long time to come to fix shower and bath problem. Bath was broken and we couldn't flash. Shower knob was to stiff. Hotel staff I called did not come to my room to fix those problems. I called 3 times and finally they came to fix. However, They never came to fix bath problem...

Excellent Value

Our room was fabulous and the service was great. We left some clothing in the closet and the hotel sent it back to us at no charge.
