Great customer service

The hotel was comfortable although old. No views of anything interesting from most of the rooms. The room service food was fantastic one day and terrible the next. I did complain to the front desk. The management then did everything to apologize and correct their error. I was truly impressed with the customer service. Better than 98% of the hotels I have stayed in. Room was quiet.

needs improvement

The room was booked as a de/luxe king size bed room ... at arrival I had a Queen size bed and was told I had "requested" a King ... not true...I had booked a King ,so my confirmation said .. the bathroom was the size of a broom closet...on opening the bathroom door it hit the toilet therefore you had to squeeze through...one club chair in this "de/luxe"room ... the other person had to sit on bed to view T.V.which had 6 channels only .... in my opinion the accomadation was no better than an ordinary motel ...

Excellent location

Right on the freedom trail and very convenient to public transportation and most everything of importance. However, don't even think of eating at the hotel or purchasing food in the hotel shop unless you want to pay triple the going rate. More affordable shops and restaurants are within easy walking distance.

The room was small, but clean. The bathroom was very tiny, but modern and clean. The bed was just alright, and the window overlooked an alley and office building a few feet away. The breakfast buffet was much better in previous visits. This time the coffee was bitter, and was served a while after we had food. the scrambled eggs were very wet and runny. The rest of the food was quite good, and the fruit was excellent.

great location

although the rooms were small(an older hotel) they were well appointed. great location-within walking diatance of many sites the concierge was very helpfu esp. in choosing a restaurant we'll be back on our next visit to Boston

Historic grandeur with up to date service

The location of this beautiful historic hotel could not be easier for sightseeing, but the service in the restaurant, the bar and the concierge desk made my stay truly memorable. The staff really shines.

Great Location; satisfactory room

Great location for this hotel, near downtown crossing, Faneuil Hall marketplace and the North End. Rooms are small, but clean and adequate. Service is excellent.

Great Service

This classic old hotel has been well updated to preserve the feel of the original and offer the amenities that guests of today require. Our room was spacious and was well furnished and had nice touches that made us realize that the staff pays attention to details and housekeeping is excellent. Comfortable bed, good linens, smallish but well equipped bathroom. Front desk staff staff friendly and helpful.

Outstanding Hotel

This is the longest consecutively opened hotel in the USA. It opened in the 1850's, and has never been closed for even one day!! Excellent location in Freedom Trail area, walking distance to the Amtrak station. The staff are wonderful and completely accomodating; beautifully decorated, large rooms, immaculately clean, fabulous dining room with excellent breakfast choices. Honestly, I do not have one complaint, and would recommend this property to everyone. I am in the travel industry and it takes alot to impress me. Thank you hotels.com

Very Comfortable, Great Location

I will definately stay here again. Can't beat the location. Only a short walk to the subway to/from the airport. Rooms are a bit on the small side.
