Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 1 of 15Wonderful little hotel
The service is top notch. You just get the sense that everybody that works there has been in the service industry for a long time. It is three original homes that have been converted into the boutique hotel. My room was small but very comfortable. The breakfast was good. I did not use the spa but it looked very nice. This is one of the good ones!

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 15Comfortable Hotel away from Touristy area
Very pleasant location in a quiet area, which was a nice change from the crowds of Central Amsterdam. I rented a bike during my stay, so I could get anywhere in 10 min anyways. I highly recommend renting a bike in this city, could be the best big city for biking in the world. Tram is close by so that is another option. Service is very good at the hotel, the room was much smaller than I expected though. Pretty good deal overall, I would enjoy this hotel again but I would also probably look into other hotels too.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 4 of 15nice hotel
This hotel - was very nice. Clean, well maintained, and friendly staff. I didn't have their breakfast so can't comment. The area is within walking distance of museums and Leidensplein - (where there's lots of shopping). The roomm a bit small -b ut I was a solo traveler so it was good for me.. All in all the hotel is a great place to stay and I would recommend this to anyone. The lift by the way worked well when I was there, no problems with luggage etc... Thanks for a great stay Bildenberg

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 5 of 15Very nice, but....
On arrival, we were immediately urged to upgrade to a larger room, saying the "double" would have too small a bed and not enough room for our luggage. We had to drag four suitcases up six steps to get to our upgraded room (over $50 more per night), which was a reasonable size. Breakfast was not included, and cost 20 euros each. The air conditioner in our room was never fixed despite three complaints, and the room was too warm throughout our stay; at night, we opened the window. Ideal location for museums, less than two blocks, and the best Indonesian rijstaffel is just two blocks away. These positives would lead us to stay her again, but not enthusiastically.

One caveat for those planning to stay here: There is a small lift (elevator). While there are some rooms on each floor that are on the same level as the lift, most require walking up a few additional steep steps which are difficult to negotiate for the movement-challenged. Also, there is no way to get to their breakfast room without going up and down some stairs. This is a great hotel, constucted by connecting three existing small buildings together (a common occurance in Amsterdam). The staff is wonderful -- friendly and helpful. Because there are many other buildings of similar height and the streets are narrow, there aren't any spectacular views from the rooms, but this is more than compensated by the close proximity to parks, museums, shopping, restaurants, and the Concertgebouw (for music lovers). If you're into culture, I can't imagine a better for a "home base" in Amsterdam.

This is one of the better hotels we've stayed in Amsterdam over the years. Even during the busy New Years season, our stay was quiet and the location ideal. Highly recommended.

Trip Type: Romance Review 8 of 15Outstanding Hotel
We thought this was a wonderful hotel. It is in a very nice and quiet area which is near the bus stop so it is easy to get anywhere. It is away from the busy crowds that we saw elsewhere and we appreciated that. In addition, the hotel is a charming small hotel with an elegant touch. The room we reserved was very small so for an extra fee we decided to upgrade to a larger room. The room was a bit more than we wanted to spend but it was so much nicer than the smaller room we decided to spend the extra money. The reviews we read before we went were very helpful and I agree with most which say that this is a great hotel and I would recommend it very highly.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 9 of 15Small and Basement Room
My room was extremely small, and it's in the basement. I thought the description implied that breakfast was included. It costed 20 Euros for a cold breakfast.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 10 of 15Good hotel, great location, outstanding service
The room was small, but the most comfortable bed i ever slept in - down pillows and comforter. Can't beat the location - next to museums, walking distance to dam and boat tours, easy walk to the flower district, variety of restaurants. Staff was exceptional - best i ever encountered. Safe, quiet - treat yourself and stay here.

The hotel was great. Wonderful price, nice location (close to museums). The staff spoke excellent English; was very helpful. The rooms were large, beds and pillows were down. I would definately stay there again.

I thought it was a nice stylish place. But I asked if complementary upgrades were possible and was given an impolite reponse.

Trip Type: Romance Review 14 of 15Nice Little Hotel
Just steps from the Van Gogh and the city park in the Museum District of Amsterdam this hotel has a great location...It's also on a side/secondary street, which cuts out the traffic and noise in front of the hotel...The room and bathroom was very small, but the value was there because of the quality of the facility and the excellent staff...I'd say 3.5 to 4.0 stars for this hotel is a fair assessment.
