    The guest room was small, but the picture was accurate. The room was nicely decorate, we actually stayed in the room #509 featured. A clerk at the desk an elderly guy or at least he appeared to be elderly that was quite rude. He insisted that we leave our key at the front desk whenever we left the hotel!!?!! We had been there 3 days going on 4 and had never heard this requirement before laying eyes on him. He actually locked the sliding glass door that night when he saw us coming because he didn't have our key and he said, "again you leave here without leaving your key!!!" Thank God that was the first and last night that he worked while we were there. We stayed 7 days. We had a friend in town as well that stayed in a hotel that was more upscale for only $40 dollars more a night and closer to Champs Elysees. I would stay there again.

    We only had one week to stay in Paris and wanted to see it all. It's been 25 years since our last visit and with a free round trip ticket to Paris for my husband and I though our reward points all we needed was a comfortable, quite hotel where we could cleanup, get rest and take off. Money is tight right now in so may ways. We were able to economize our stay by using the hotel room refrigerator to stock cheese, fruit and baked goods. My husband and I have food allergies and are unable to take advantage of the breakfast buffet, but that was an extra that we did not have to pay for. Wonderful bakery around the corner, great places to eat within a two block area. Metro stop, ATM machine, grocery market all within a block. Very quite at night. We slept like kittens after a full day of playing. Would I stay there again. Yes!! I need to improve my French before returning to France again, but in all we had a wonderful stay and the staff was generally helpful.

Location. The Best Western Villa des Artistes in Paris, France is on a narrow street, two blocks from Luxembourg Garden, three blocks from the shops and cafés of Montparnasse and Montparnasse metro station. The Louvre and Eiffel Tower are less than three kilometers from the hotel. Paris Orly International Airport is 20 kilometers away.

Hotel Features. On a tiny side street, Villa des Artistes hotel takes its name from the neighborhood's artistic heritage. The carpeted lobby features subdued lighting, complimentary daily newspapers and books. Young local artists display their works in the hotel. A private garden courtyard is open during warmer weather. Buffet breakfasts are served daily and drinks are available from the bar all day. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available. This hotel is smoke-free.

Guestrooms. The 55 guestrooms at the Villa des Artistes offer minibars and in-room safes. Other amenities include high-definition satellite television with pay movies and direct-dial phones. The private bathrooms have shower/tub combinations, hand-held showers, and hair dryers. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available.

Expert Tip. Montparnasse Tower, two blocks from the hotel, is a 210 meter tall office skyscraper. Built on top of the Paris Metro station, "Montparnasse-Bienvenüe", the 58 floors of the tower are mainly occupied by offices, while two floors are open to the public for viewing the city. On a clear day, the view covers a radius of 40 kilometers.
