Very clean, accomodating hotel, easy to find, great overall stay!

Great Stay

We stayed at the best western in Albany for a concert on Halloween. When we checked in we were greeted with friendly service and a fresh baked chocolate chip cookie...YUM!! They also had a bowl of candy out for halloween. The room was clean and spacious....(there were four of us that stayed in the room) and even had a fridge which was unexpected. They had a shuttle that took us from the front door of the hotel to the front door of the concert. Also the free breakfast buffet was awesome! Full spread...even make your own waffles.

Great room for the money

We loved the closeness to the Giants training camp and mall as well as the ease getting to these spots. The price of our stay including breakfast, frig, coffee pot, and microwave in addition to the regular amenities was better than the next night's newer hotel and its rate.

This Hotel needs to be refurbish

I was hoping to see the quality and cleaness of other Best Western Hotels and was dissapointed. I was given a room that I could not accept because the carpets smell very bad. I was switch to another room and the air conditioner did not work. Finally they put me in a room that was satisfactory. This hotel needs to be refurbish and clean up. The hallways carpets are dirty, the swiming pool area is in great need of repairs and cleaning. The free breakfast was great, the best I have seem in few months.

Decent hotel BUT.....

Only stayed there one night and glad I did. The night staff was beyond rude or tired or both. Dude couldn't find my reservation and immediately assumed that I didn't make any...sigh. Anyway, after 10 good minutes and a bottle of water and a big cookie that were complimentary, everything was okay. Room was clean but outside the hotel at night was a bit scary. This hotel is totally insecure despite cameras in the hallways. Back doors are left open and people can get in or out using the hotel facilities, whether they are guests of the hotel or not. Parking is ok but if you come at night, you will end up parking in a very dark parking lot right behind the hotel. I found out that they have free shuttle from the airport which is always a plus even if I didn't need it. Overall, decent experience but only stay there if you want to be in the area for a short amount of time.

Needs Improvement

Staffing: Front desk very friendly and accommodating.I had a wedding to go to around check in time and they allowed me to check in early to my room. Housekeeping:Friendly but the housekeeper I spoke with did not speak English, which made it difficult, but was she was helpful when my door card was not working - although it took several tries before I was able to make her understand my problem. Room: Was basically clean, except for the rug - which was in need of cleaning. Free breakfast: I saw only one person in the dining area and he was setting up and cleaning the tables. No waitress in sight. There was no hostess at the entrance to the dining area. Food was not being replenished as it should have been. Had I not stayed here before, I don't know that I would have made another reservation for this hotel. However,having stayed here before and encountered better conditions, I will go back again. The price is good and the location convenient for me. However,I would not recommend it to another person at this time - until I see things have improved.

great hotel

great hotel for the money. staff have always been good but now have gotten even better. breakfast included is always helpful and the indoor pool is the best i've ever experienced inside any hotel. and actually, the bathrooms inside the rooms have actually improved with better shower heads and roomier curved rod curtains. always reassuring to go somewhere and find constant little improvements. we also had to cut our trip short this time due to an emergency and the hotel was very understanding about this which i will not forget.

Great Find for the Money

I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel-- in a good way. I booked this hotel because of it's price and what that included- free shuttle to and from the Albany airport, breakfast and a shuttle that would go to Empire State Plaza for $5. What I found upon arrival was even more. Shuttle- Check. Shuttle Downtown- Check PLUS. It includes up to 2 people for $5 ROUNDTRIP. Can't beat that! Breakfast- Triple Check. It is not your usual motel fare. Breakfast was in their restaurant with sausage, scrambled eggs with cheese, an assortment of juices, breads, muffins, bagels and Belgian waffles (that you make yourself with the batter dispenser provided!!). The room was clean, wifi was free, cable was good and the bed was comfortable. What more can you ask for?! It is no 5 star hotel in terms of looks, but I give it 5 STARS for what it gave!!

Good for a short stay

They hotel was fine for a short stay. There are plenty of things to do around the area. I have been staying there for a few years now and have not seen any upgrades or improvements, but am still satisfied with it for my short stays. The staff are friendly.

needs to be cleaned. or fumigated

i stayed there with my mother for its location, its right across from suny albany, however thats not worth it. she had little red bugs in her bed every night and she was bitten countless times. it wasn't worth it to be itchy for 2 weeks, not to mention how unsanitary and scary that all is.

A very good deal

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was clean, bed comfortable, the breakfast was in a pleasant setting and there were many different things to eat. That will be my place to stay when in Albany.
