    it is close to a subway station that makes it easy to visit all Paris but is located in a residental area with nearby coffee place that makes it very attractive. The staff was very helpful and arranged our return back with a cab even though you could use the train if you don't want to spend the money on airport transportation.People complain of the shower and that is true. They should put a shower curtain or something otherwise the whole floor gets wet but who cares. Is not that you have to clean it yourself.We walked everywhere and restaurants where open until 2 pm in the neighbourhood so it always felt safe to walk back. Small room but it had all you need if you plan to visit Paris and tour around and not spend your time in the hotel

Location. This classic 1930s Art Deco building houses a boutique hotel in the Right Bank's exclusive 17th arrondissement, less than two kilometres from the Parc Monceau, the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs-Elysées. The nearest airport is Charles de Gaulle Airport, 30 kilometres away.

Hotel Features. Many of the hotel's original 1930s Art Deco architectural details have been preserved, such as the large stained-glass panels by the sculptor Grüber which decorate the lower-level breakfast room and bar. The lobby lounge is styled with a 1930s club atmosphere, with deep sofas, low lighting, dramatic sculptures, and a large selection of international fashion and business magazines. Guests can plan a day's sightseeing using the hotel's high-speed computer station (surcharge) in the lobby lounge, or quiz staff at the 24- hour front desk for tips on local attractions.

The stylish breakfast room features Art Deco stained- glass windows, tall ceilings, orange walls and chrome detailing; a buffet breakfast is served daily for a fee.

The Parc de Monceau, less than one kilometre from the hotel, is a popular place for jogging in Paris, and has play areas for children.

Guestrooms. The Best Western Mercedes has 37 air-conditioned guestrooms on eight floors. All rooms have white walls hung with framed prints or paintings, and dark-wood Art Deco style furnishings. Amenities include LCD flatscreen TVs with satellite channels, direct-dial phones, high-speed and wireless Internet connections (surcharge), safes, and minibars. Tiled bathrooms have chrome fittings, mosaic tile details, hair dryers, and slate floors.

Expert Tip. The hotel is one metro stop away from the Parc Monceau, with its manicured gardens designed in the romantic style of the late 1800s. Overlooking the gardens are two of Paris' lesser-known museums: the Musée Nissim de Camondo is the reconstruction of an 18th-century aristocratic mansion, and the Musée Cernuschi contains the municipal collection of Chinese arts, restored and reopened in 2005.
