Trip Type: With Friends Review 1 of 139Taos Charm
We chose this hotel because it is centrally located and has history. The hotel was clean and comfortable and very quiet. Easy to walk to the Plaza and shopping on Bent Street. Great price.

Trip Type: Business Review 2 of 139Great Motel; Better Price; Best Value
My wife and I just completed a 10 day work/vacation trip to New Mexico. The third night was spent in Taos at this motel. There was nothing that we could have reasonably expected from a motel that the Best Western Kachina Lodge did not provide. The staff was gracious, and friendly, and helpful - qualities that you do not always find at the more expensive hotels/motels. In addition to all of the normal motel amenities, the Kachina Lodge had an outdoor gazebo, and a pleasant campfire area. The motel has a definite western, outdoorsy motif. There is a wonderful restaurant on site - with fantastic food, cooks, and waitstaff - and several large convention rooms. There is a well-appointed lobby with local art on the walls. The motel is located less than a mile from the center of town - an easy walk for the adventurous. In fact, the only thing missing from this motel was an exorbitant price. A great value at double the price. I will always stay at the Kachina Lodge on future trops to Taos, and will recommend this motl to all. Finally, my only regret about the Kachina Lodge was that the business portion of our trip forced us to move on to Albuquerque after just one relaxing night at the Kachina Lodge. By the way, the motel is located just a few miles from the Taos Pueblo, a site we visited before leaving town.

Very run down. The manager had just been fired because he was not keeping the hotel up to standard. Glad to hear that.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 5 of 139Good place in Taos
I usually stay at Kachina Lodge or Sagebrush Inn. The atmosphere has some character. Kachina is close to the plaza and downtown shops and restaurants. Nice coffee shop, they used to give breakfast free, but have changed that to a discounted breakfast. But, in all, a fine place to stay.

The hot tub was out of order and no attempt was made to inform me before we arrived. I was VERY unhappy.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 8 of 139Friendly staff
This hotel is showing a little wear but made up for it with the friendliness of the staff. They were willing to go the extra distance to help. Late one night, we needed two exta pillows and the night guard brought them to us from another clean room. The front desk staff were extremely customer service oriented.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 12 of 139Find another hotel
Fortunately, we were only there for about 12 hours. The hotel was old and dirty. The 1/2-price breakfast buffet was cold and un-appetizing, even though we got there at 7am--right at the start. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Trip Type: Business Review 13 of 139Great Hotel for the Price
We looked at several hotels in the Taos area and settled on the Best Western. For the price, this was a great deal. The front desk staff was friendly and very helpful. The A/C was off so upon arriving to the room (in the summer) it was uncomfortable for an hour or so until it cooled off. But other than that, the room was clean and comfortable. Great location, walking distance to everything. The breakfast buffet in the morning was great and was half off for hotel guests ($4.99/person).

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 14 of 139Needs Improvement
The room is very old and the carpet was filthy. We had an area outside to sit out and the ashtray had not been emptied. The bed had a hard mattress to sleep on. The location was good and plenty of parking.
