Good Value for Price

Hotel is in a good location. A Denny's Restaurant is conveniently located right next to the hotel for a quick bite. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. There is a complementary shuttle to the airport every 20 minutes. The beds are a little hard and room a little small, but overall it was a good deal for the price.

"Goofy Staff"

The facility is fine. The staff needs more training. The are very friendly despite their lack of knowledge.

Best Value in San Jose area

This hotel is worth every penny! Their free international calling, free happy hour (they just keep them coming:-), free internet, free Denny's breakfast and free airport shuttle made the stay perfect! The courtyard is a beautiful garden tucked away in the city. We loved it so much at the beginning of our stay we booked it for our last night too.

What a leasant surprise!

Open air bar with free happy hour! Free Denny's breakfast right next door! Great Fitness facilities! Free internet with coffee 24 hrs! You certainly get more than you asked for!

Great Hotel

We stayed here at the beginning of our trip and at the end. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The grounds were beautiful. If we come back to Costa Rica we will stay here again.

Very good value hotel.

Great hotel for the money. Beautiful pool, nice outdoor hot tub, free internet. Request a room facing the pool which has a nice garden view. Good location for pick up for tours but the area not really a "walk-around" neighborhood (not dangerous, just not in the vicinity of much). We would stay here again.

Very clean hotel, hated customer service

The hotel cleanness of the hotel is great and the location is also great. The one thing I need to mention is the customer service is the worse, specially all the ladies that work there are rude and just flat out doen't care to help anybody. We had a few questions and we come to the front desk waited in line as our turn come up we ask the ladies a question and they said go back to the line i am leaving now just because they didnt' want to help anybody it happen about 3 times. But overall if it was not for all the ladies that work there in the front desk it was a great clean hotel.

needs some improvement

room not dirty but had some ant problem until I called for help so they sent me a can of bug spray. Employees very congenial & helpful. Area not for vacationing but more for convenience of proximity to San Jose.

"Great Ambiance"

The Best Western Irazu, is like many hotels I have stayed, in many different countries. What makes it unique, is the staff. That is there at every moment anticipating your needs, and fullfilling your wishes. Incredible experience.

Does not recommend this hotel to anyone

The reason why i dont recommend this hotel to anyone is because of how old and noisy it is. The hotel is so old that i can hear people talk next door to me. I can also hear people talking outside. They werent even talking that loud because i went into the hallway and heard nothing.One good thing was the beds were new and comfortable.
