Really a basic room

After viewing the room, I was not satisfied, and I purchased an upgrade to more comfortable accommodations for an additional fee of about 10% of what I originally paid.

Good value for the money

Hotel staff was very nice to let me check in at 10am. Room was very clean and very nice size for the single, however i didn't have wireless signal in my room, so i hang out at the bar downstairs to check my email and browse the web. Hotel is not centrally located, but it's 2 min walking distance from the subway station and within 15-20 minutes you could get to Rathaus sqare

good deal

close to subway and city. if you like to jog try 9 miles to and around "aussen alster" mostly in parks without major street crossings (check google maps for directions). There are supermarkets around the corner (e.g. lidel or penny markt), where you can buy some cheap supplies like water, etc. if you like to stay in, there is a restaurant with well prepared quality food (avoid the buffet unless you like to eat a lot).

Well located for transit into Hamburg

Great hotel for the money. The surrounding neighborhood is fairly bland, but the hotel is located only one block from the U-bahn line leading directly to the central train station, downtown, the harbor, and the Reeperbahn. A very good location for getting around Hamburg by public transit.

Value and Convenience

This hotel met our primary needs -- secure parking and access to public transportation which was just a short walk away. The restaurant and bar were excellent. Overall it was a bargaain.

Could be better, could be worse

Stayed at this property for one night, so my standards were not too particular. The hotel is very convenient from metro station Rauhes Haus, but the neighborhood doesn't really have much else other than a gas station and small grocery store. We didn't want to pay the hotel's rate for breakfast, but there was nothing else within walking distance. Hotel was clean and staff was nice, but it hasn't been redecorated in a while. Our room facing the main road was very noisy. One bonus amenity was a refrigerator in the room. The hotel was fine, but I would not have wanted to stay there for several nights.

A quality accomodation, away from the city's hustle and bustle

Great value and excellent location. It's in a quieter part of the city, but only a five minute walk from the nearest S-bahn station. Checking in and out was fast, and the staff were very courteous. The room was well furnished, the bed linen clean, the beds comforable.

Needs improvement

The hotel furniture and carpet is very old and stained. It is in need of a makeover!!
