Trip Type: With Friends Review 4 of 431Perfect for the price
The hotel staff were friendly but did not go out of their way to make our stay extraordinary. The room we had was cramped. It had 2 double beds. The beds were very firm and I found them uncomfortable. Valet parking is the only option. It was available for a considerable fee which was more expensive than neighboring lots or the parking I saw available at other hotels in the area. Wifi was available, but nonexistent in my room but there were 2 computers available in the lobby with a printer for free. If you are looking for a budget hotel close to all the musuems and reasonably close to the trains, this is it!

Trip Type: Family Review 5 of 431Great Hotel for the Price, Outstanding Service!!!
I send my husband to Chicago every year to go see a Bears game and he always stays at Best Western Grant park because you can take the orange line from Midway & walk a block & a half to the hotel and then it is less than half a mile walk to Soldier Field. The hotel itself is a little dated and does not have the extra luxaries that other hotel have, but for the price there is not a better deal! Very clean, decent sized room & the bar downstairs is great! But what makes them outstanding is on this stay, my husband left his $600 Luminox watch in the room & when I called back Housekeeping went out of their way to find it & help me arrange it's return. Someone could have just kept it but they did not. This speaks volumes to me about their staff. We will never stay anywhere else!!!! Go Bears!!!

Trip Type: With Friends Review 8 of 431Good location, good hotel
We have stayed here on previous visits. The hotel is nice, the staff is friendly, rooms are clean. For the price and location, you can't go wrong at this hotel. The one thing that was bad was the service and food in the restaurant. The waiters were horrible, rude, and downright slow. If you are going to do the deal with the breakfast, don't do it. Take a stroll down Michigan Avenue a few blocks and go to the Artist Cafe (a block north of the Congress hotel) and have a superb breakfast for the same price and the waitstaff there is fabulous.

Trip Type: Family Review 9 of 431Better than the price might suggest
When we first look at the hotel, it sounded too good to be true. But after staying there, we couldn't be happier. The location is great, especially for tourists planning on going to the Field Museum, the aquarium, or the planetarium, all just a quick walk away. The hotel is not new, and it shows, but for the price we paid it was more than enough to get a great night of sleep and a hot shower. Unless you plan on spending too much time in your hotel, this one is a steal.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 13 of 431Booked non-smoking, placed in smoking room
We booked our two night stay five weeks in advance for a non-smoking room and even though I explained my daughter's severe allergy to smoke, they still put us in a smoking room. The front desk person was very snotty and even lied to us by telling us the adjoing restaurant was alreay closed as it was 10 pm. He sent to a restaurant around the block which was closed. We walked back to the hotel and the adjoining restaurant was still open. It was 9:55 - we wasted 15 minutes and could have gotten a hot meal. Instead the restaurant packaged us up cold sandwiches. We were very grateful and left a hugh tip.

Trip Type: Business Review 14 of 431Maintenance issue
During my shower on the first morning, the bathroom light started acting like a strobe. As I left for my meeting, I told Rosie at the front desk. She asked,"Will you be in the room so we can fix it?" I told her no, go ahead in and fix it. After all, housekeeping goes in when I'm not there, why not maintenance. That night, the problem was still there (as it obviously was the next morning). I told the front desk again. A different clerk said he'd take care of it, and it was fixed when I got back. My question is, why not after the first request?
