Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 1 of 9Extremely comfortable hotel
The room was large, the bed was comfortable, lots of pillows, the place was quiet, bright and pleasant. The breakfast was good also. I would definitely recommend it.

Trip Type: Family Review 4 of 9Good stopping over point.
Convenient location on route to Outer Banks. Clean, friendly. Nice pool. Room smelled a bit musty. A couple of light bulbs out.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 6 of 9A welcome alternative
I had previously been a frequent traveler to this area and was happy to finally be able to upgrade to a newer hotel -- motor lodges had previously been the only option. Still, the price seemed a little high compared to the deals we've gotten on this site for a similar rate on higher-end hotels. The hotel staff made up for the higher-than-expected rate. We arrived late and found the front desk clerks to be quite refreshing -- friendly, courteous and helpful -- southern hospitality at its best. Our room was clean and comfortable, although there was a slight musty odor on arrival. There's no elevator in this hotel, however, so you have to take the stairs if your room is on the second floor. We did not have time to use the pool, but it was clean and attractive. I'm told the area is developing into a resort community, but it's pretty sleepy right now, and the seafood restaurant next door was out of business. There weren't many nearby dining options beyond the Mexican restaurant across the highway. The fresh salsa and grilled chicken quesidillas were exceptionally good and stood out among the dishes we tried. Continental breakfast at the hotel had a wide variety of cereals, bagels, pastries and juices. But we just had juice and wished for an on-site restaurant that served a hot southern breakfast with grits, bacon and eggs.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 7 of 9Outstanding Hotel
The quality of sleep that I obtained was as if I were in my own bed or perhaps better. I arrived late and left early so I did little but sleep, but that was perfect.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 8 of 9Nice Hotel in the Country
The hotel was nice the staff was helpful. Rooms were clean and nice. Pool was clean and almost always virtually empty. Continental breakfast was good nice variety not quite a full breakfast (with eggs, bacon etc) but had a nice variety of cereal, yogurt, danish, toast, etc.) The only complaint was that they were out of the the little shampoo bottles. But everything else was great.
