Was a good Experience

We stayed in the hotel for 2 nights. There was public transportation easily accessible which was right across the hotel. It was convenient to go downtown. The service was good.

Travelers With Dogs Can Stay in Style!

Cocoa, the Chocolate Lab and mascot of the hotel, sets the tone. Your canine companion is welcome at this beautiful hotel. Much unlike many accommodations in the US, this nicely appointed Best Western makes your mutt feel right at home. We had a beautiful view of Chocolate Lake and the city of Halifax beyond. A nice lake-side park is available for pet exercise. Our rooms were first rate as was the treatment we received from the hotel staff. Our only complaint was that there were no chocolate cookies available the night we stayed. Come see for yourself!

Under Construction

The front entrance to the hotel was under construction and you had to enter through the lower level and had a long walk to the elevator to reach the lobby level. The surrounding area was not very appealing.

Hotel uder construction

It looked to me that only one quarter of the hotel was available for occupacy. The other three quarters was under construction making access to and from the hotel in general difficult. Otherwise we thought it was a good hotel and would stay again once construction is finsihed. The condition of the hotel was not known to us until we checked-in.

Construction - Hot water

This hotel was under construction during our visit. Wish we had known that before we booked. On the second day of our stay there was NO hot water. They did finally get it fixed but not before I had to take a cold shower to get ready to go out to dinner.

Awesome!

This hotel was better than expected! I've always believed that Best Western hotels were hotels where you'd want to spend the least amount of time in there, but it wasn't. The bed was really comfortable and the bathroom was really clean. Great room overall. Great service from the receptionists. They were very helpful with information about the area. We had a lake-view room, which was really awesome. We had great time.

Great room for the money

Every things was OK, just the food in the restaurant needs some improvement.

A highly recommended hotel

This was our second stay at the hotel - we have been there for a week both times. We were impressed with the professional and friendly manner of the staff and the value for our money. We will definitely return!

Noisy

I've stayed here twice and on both occasions there were people partying in their rooms adjacent to mine.

Our stay at the Chocolate Lake Best Western was wonderful.The staff was extreamly pleasant and helpful.It was like staying with family.Our two german shepards were traveling with us as well and they also felt right at home and made quick friends with Cocoa the resident Labordor Retreiver. The room was clean and the bed was scrumpous with down pillows and comforter. If you enjoy a cocktail the bar manager is sure to please ! We have nothing but good things to say and will certainly stay again when we pass through Halifax.

Great Service and Quality for the money

I was a little hesitant about booking this hotel but as it turned out we were really satisfied with the service, the rooms and beds are really comfortable - to the point that you do not want to leave the room! Our room was overlooking the lake and downtown was only a 10 minute cab drive. I would highly recommend the hotel.
