good room for the price

Nice hotel, friendly staff. great view from ocean front view room. Needed a bit of updating in kitchen area. Good time there.

OUTSTANDING HOTEL & EMPLOYEES. HAVE BEEN GOING TO MYRTLE BEACH FOR MANY YEARS AND HAVE STAYED IN DIFFERENT HOTELS ON THE BEACH. BY FAR THIS STAY WAS THE BEST! ONLY DISSAPOINTMENT EXERCISE ROOM NEEDS IMPROVEMENT

Great hotel

Over all the room was nice. the kitchen was not fully equipt, like they said. I had to go out and buy a frying pan and cookie sheet for baking biscuits. The furniture was old compared to the pictures on the web site.

Nice room for the money

I would not pay summer rates for this hotel. It was very nice for the off season rates. First room they gave us was very smelly but they graciously moved us to another room.

Loved it!

The hotel facilities were very nice. I had a one bedroom suite with an ocean view. It was smaller than other suites I've rented but certainly adequate for my family of 4. There are two pools, one in the sun and one covered. That is great to have an option to get out of the sun but still have the ability to swim. They also had a 1 foot deep kiddie pool, hot tub and lazy river. The resort provides tubes to use in the river. However, they do not provide towels to use at the pool. We did not know this and had to buy some in town. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful. They were constantly cleaning the common areas and were even painting the hallway walls. We will definitely stay at this resort again when we return to Myrtle Beach!

Great hotel for the money

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel and for the money we spent, we were satisfied. We reserved a suite in the tower and it was very clean. The bathroom had a very large tub with a lot of room to shower and store our toiletries. The beds were comfortable. The location was fine; right on the beach. Parking was across the street, but we got used to it and there was a place to unload our vehicle close to the elevator if we needed to do so prior to parking. If I have any complaint, it would be the about the housekeeping. It seemed to be minimal. However, when we complained, it did get better. I would recommend this hotel to others.

A decent hotel for the right price...

The Best Western offered a decent room for the price I paid. The room was clean and neat. I requested an ocean view room and it was granted. The hotel is right off the beach so it was an easy walk during the day and when we were in the room at night, we kept the terrace door open to hear the ocean. We had a great vacation overall. The only warning is the valet parking. It was at a cost of 8 dollars per day, however, there was only 1 valet guy so some days, out of frustration, we got our car ourselves.

the stay was good, hotel in a great location the only problem was fitness room could have been better. the hotel service was great.

Great room for the Money

This room was very nice for the rate that I was given. Oceanfront with balcony. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. It had an outdoor pool and a covered small lazy river area, on the pathway to the beach which was connected to the hotel. I would stay there again.

Okay Hotel. Wouldn't pay full price, and don't expect anything extra.

This is the second time we've stayed at the Best Western Carolinian and we had a similar yet different experience than the last time. When we went this time we were expecting that the housekeeping staff would be rather unhelpful, and that the room would be very clean and bright and cheery like the last time. We had a King size ocean view room the last time and two queen ocean front room this time, with a little kitchen. I have to say that I would've preferred the room we had last time, to our ocean front accomadation. The room was very humid, making the air feel very heavy. This in turn caused their to be quite a bit of mildew build up in the bathroom. Upon arrival we went immediately to the balcony to check out the view. On the floor there was a big ball of cigarette butts that had come out of a knocked over plastic cup. The front desk sent someone up to clean it, but it showed me that the house cleaning crews are not very thurough. We also found the bathrooms to be less than sanitary. They had great features, and the bathroom wouldn't have been a concern at all had it been cleaned properly. With one exception, the last time we were here we were on the 8th floor and the water pressure was terrible, as well as the temperature would go from extreme hot to extreme cold. This time the water temperature was fine and consistent, but the water pressure was so extreme it almost stung. Really not enjoyable if you have a sunburn. The last time we were here, we stayed for 5 days and had no maid service the entire time (even after asking), and the front desk was rather unhelpful. This time was completely the opposite, and even our tiniest random requests were met. We had forgotten forks, and had none in our room, and they came right up and brought us two forks. It would've been nice if the hotel would've had them in our rooms already (especially considering we had a refrigerator, coffee pot, and microwave), but were happy they were so prompt in helping us. Somewhat disappointed with some aspects of stay...

The hotel was in a great location and the appearance on the exterior was great. We enjoyed our 2 day stay but would have liked for some things to have been updated in the room. The pullout sofa was purely springs and was outdated. Also, it appeared that housekeeping must have quickly cleaned the surface but didn't double check the room as one bed had a long black hair down in the sheets and a cooking pot was placed back in the cabinets while still being dirty. The countertops had not been wiped down and had food stuck to them and last but not least, hair was attached to the shower walls. The bathtub itself was the only thing in the room that appeared to be up to date and we enjoyed the water pressure. The hotel staff was kind and friendly but were limited on how they were able to fix problems, which was disappointing. If you don't mind paying quite a bit of money for an outdated, maybe not clean room with beds that are uncomfortable, pick this one! I honestly wouldn't pay what we paid again and hotels.com was running a special for one night free. That's the main reason I chose this hotel to begin with. Once in Myrtle Beach, I realized hotels were a dime a dozen and many advertised great walk in rates. I might just take my chances or rent a house next time.
