Terrible

Worst Hotel I have ever stayed in. The mixed ratings are due to the fact that there are old rooms and newly renovated. The old rooms are listed as Ocean view. And if you lean far enough off of the balcony, you can look over the filthy parking lot and actually see it. Room was filthy. Sand was in the sheets. Garbage cans outside were over flowing. Air conditioner leaked all over the floor. Mildew was on the walls. Fixtures were bent. Light bulbs missing. Appliances missing legs. Room furniture was early depression. The Bates Motel had it beat!!!!!

Awesome!!!

We loved it!!! We came to Daytona Beach for the First weekend of October with our 2 and 4 year children! We are from St Louis so this was the first time our kids saw the Beach! We loved it, the hotel..the Beach...everything!!! I read the reviews before coming down so my hopes weren't very high but there was nothing wrong with the Hotel!!! I guess you just can't please som people...we were pleased though and we WILL be back!!!! :)

Don't stay here...choose another!

I admit my expectations were low. All we wanted was a beach front room and a place for our dogs. When arriving the person told me I booked a "partial ocean" view and needed to pay an upgrade for the "ocean-view". This seemed ridiculous considering nearly ALL rooms were empty. We requested a later check out...but declined it because it was not complimentary. Very poor customer care. It was nice to have a small kitchenette and to be able to walk out to the beach. If you don't mind poor service...choose this hotel...if service is important to you...choose another!!

Needs Improvement

For starters, when I booked the room it said that there was a king bed and two double beds. When we got there, we only had two double beds to sleep 3 adults and 2 children. The room was clean, at first the staff was nice, but the hotel needs a little tlc. We could have stayed at a nicer hotel for the same price if I had known that there were only two beds in it to start with. When we went to check out, my credit card had already been charged for the room and so I just went to turn my keys in like at any other hotel. Well, they told me that I had to pay $5 for parking and $1.50 for the safe. I never used the safe, we were only there for 1 night. They did not keep my credit card on file so my husband had to pay for it as my wallet was in the car. After leaving I realized that I left my driver's license in the room and called back. It took them two days to respond to my several calls and then they told me that it was not found. I was kind of disappointed in the after math.

I realized when booking this hotel that it was cheaper than many others and I therefore did expect to "get what I paid for." However, I left with many doubts. Upon entering the hotel, the lobby and pool were very nice and thats where it stopped. Our room smelled of mold/mildew. The tub/shower leaked at least a gallon of water per minute non-stop. The microwave in the room did not turn on, which they did correct and give us a new one. The last straw for us however was the fact that on our last day we found the top of a bikini swimsuit underneath the fitted sheets on our bed. This left us with the question of whether or not the sheets were ever switched from the previous customers. I could have lived with the smell and other little things that went wrong with the hotel. I can't get past the swimsuit however. I did not report it to the management because I don't think they would have believed me. I swear however that it was not mine and we did in fact find it underneath the fitted sheet and mattress pad on the bed. The string was hanging out on the side of the bed on our last day. I just dont know if the sheets were changed? How could you not see the bikini? It was black with white skulls on it?!?!?!

Great location and as expected

This hotel is in a great location with a shopping center across the street within walking distance. The hotel is older, but the room was perfect for the price, and much more than you would get at other hotels for the price. As a bonus, you could use the facilities next door, ie--pools, deck parites, jacuzzis. Overall, a great value!

Don't stay here!!!

I am not a very picky person...as long as the place is clean I expect to get what I pay for but this was terrible! I have 3 kids who are only interested in the pool. When we checked in we found out that the pool was out of order and that we would have to use the pool at the hotel next door. As we took the elevator to our room on the second floor the door opened to overflowing garbage cans and a smell from hell. Our room was nice as it contained a kitchenette ...you just had to get used to the musty smell when you first enter the room. Also the toilet ran all night. Never saw housekeeping or any maintenance people. When we went for the continental breakfast the next morning there was no food, coffee overflowing from the machine and all over the floor, and it was stifling hot. Someone did come to stock the counters with food after awhile, and a few requests later. As we departed we gazed upon and SMELLED the same garbage...as if it were waiting to greet the next unlucky guests who stepped off the elevator...24 hours later. Never so glad to get back home!!!!!!!

Great room for the money!

When I booked this hotel I was scared to see what it was actually going to look like....... (it was too cheap) But I was pleasently suprised! The room was clean!!!! It even had a mini kitchen with a stove!!! I will definately be staying here every time I go to the beach!!

Great Deal

We stayed in an oceanside room with a seperate kitchen. The room was clean and comfortable. The room was as nice as the pictures online. It was an enjoyable family weekend. Being able to stay right on the beach, at an affordable rate, and in a great room was what we were looking for and found here. This was a great end to the kids spring break. We will definitely stay here again.

needes a facelift pretty bad

this hotel is in an outstanding location right on the beach and could be a nice piece of property with much needed renovation. the room was falling apart and there was only 2 elevators shared by customers and the employees which means housekeeping was always in the way. overall, i'd recommend this hotel considering the price if you just need a place to sleep for a night.

Worst Hotel I've ever stayed

The room was dirty and disgusting, the shower wasn't cleaned (hair all over the walls and bottom), it had water damage and was very run down. I complained and they "upgraded" me to another room the 2nd night, and it was just as bad. The door would not close completely and the shower did not work. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Could be better

I was there merely to spend the night. The hotel front office closes in the evening and you have to go to a neighboring hotel to get checked in (several of them are owned by the same company). The location is great--right on the beach, across the street from a 24-hr Denny's and decent shopping. I found a small bug in my bed, which freaked out my girlfriend (but no front desk person to give us a new room). The wireless internet and cable tv were good. They charge extra for parking and using the room safe. When I went to the front desk to check out, there was no one there--only a sign telling me to use the phone there to call an extension and check out with the person on the other end of the line. Overall, I've gotten better for my money and I was surprised that it was so hard to find a person at the desk. I would not recommend it for an extended stay.
