Trip Type: Romance Review 2 of 30Great Location and Comfortable
The hotel was an excellent location, the bed was comfortable, shower good and room was clean. The room was small and lacked amenities but for the price and location we were very satisfied. If your planning to spend your time venturing around San Francisco I would highly recommend it, if you plan to be in your room and want amenities try one of the high priced hotels right across the street. We wanted a comfortable bed and a close location at a good price and that's what we got. The staff was helpful and let us leave our luggage in room because we arrived earlier than check in. Hotel is 2 blocks from Ghiradelli Square, the warf and trolly car stops.

This is an older Hotel that has had improvments done to it.The room and bathroom are very small with no closet or place to set suitcase.Parking cost 15.00 a day and there isnt enough.Coffee and Muffins were suppose to be available in the office but wernt there. The place was clean but could use things like small fridg and microwave. I think you could find a better deal with free parking.

Trip Type: Family Review 4 of 30Good Value
The location of this hotel is superb . . . Just two blocks from cable car and Fisherman's Wharf and an easy walk to North Beach eateries. A fairly modest hotel, the weekday price was quite a good one but amenities were limited. Biggest problem was that without air conditioning, the window had to be open. The room, therefore, was noisy and I had some safety concerns as there was easy, unmonitored access from the street.

Very disappointed with Hotel, room was very small, smelt bad, beds were rock hard, mini fridge and microwave didn't work.I thought I was getting a better value than surrounding hotels but ended up having to pay $40.00 a night because there parking lot only accomadates half the amount of rooms they have, they have no other parking around them except public parking witch costs a arm and a leg in San Francisco! I will never stay there again. There are much nicer Hotels everywhere with parking garages that are included in your nightly cost. Don't make the same mistake I made. I ended up paying more than I would have if I stayed in one of the nicer hotels in the surrounding area!

Trip Type: Romance Review 7 of 30better managament
The hotel has 25 rooms and 12 parking spots. you will need to find a parking space somewhere on the street, but all car must be moved off the street by 8am. I reserved a king bed and they only had a twin with one queen and a twin bed. the manager was very rude to a few guess and like to yell at customers. The price is cheap and you pay for what you get. Never will i stay at this palce.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 10 of 30Ok for a One-Night's Stay
The Bayside Inn on the Warf, suited our needs (having a place to stay for the night). However, the hotel was way over priced for the condition and quality it was in. I did not request a smoking room, however the whole room smelt strong of cigarette smoke to the point it made me sick. The screen had a hole it in it. Surprisingly, the room had a pretty nice shower. However, the shower head was mounted way up high to suite someone that was 6 foot 5! Despite the room smelling strongly of smoke, it suited its purpose of having a place to stay. However, way over priced compared to area hotels that are in better condition for the price.

Considering the location, the price is a good value. No elevators - had to lug a large suitcase up 3 floor, floors weren't the cleanest but overall, it was o.k.

I specifically picked this hotel because it said that it had parking. Then we get there and we had to pay to park in a public parking garage. The room was very small and the bath tub didn't drain, it filled up about half way while I was trying to take a shower. I ended up paying more to stay there then I would have at another hotel that I knew had free parking available and much nicer rooms.

Trip Type: Romance Review 14 of 30Great Location, Reasonably Priced
With the location right across from the a major hotel in Fisherman's Wharf, the location can't get much better. It's easy to get to by BART and then the 30 bus (call them to get exit information). Is it as nice as the ones across the street? No, but even at full price, it's less than half the cost. If you want room service and bell hops, pay the money elsewhere. If you want a clean room, well located, and a fair price, check this place out.

Trip Type: Family Review 15 of 30Great Location but Hotel needs some work.
For the location, this hotel is great. It's three blocks from Lombard Street and only one block from the Wharf. The problem is that a decent night's sleep is out of the question as the Bayside does not have air conditioning and opening up a window exposes you to all of the noises of San Francisco from loud pedestrians to sirens to cars honking. The staff is inexperienced and we had to wait for a manager before anything could be confirmed with our reservation, and the manager could use a lesson in manners. Overall, though, it's a decent place to stay which could be great if the management would spend some money to fix the flaws.
