Second stay here...disappointed this time

This was the second time we stayed here in the past couple of months. The first time we were very pleased with the value. Unfortunately, this time around was not so pleasant. We requested a non-smoking room about a month in advance of our stay. While we did indeed check into a non-smoking room, it was one of only a handfull of rooms on a floor where all the other rooms allowed smoking. The entire hallway on that floor, of course, smelled overwhelmingly of smoke. While our room itself was alright, walking through the hallway to GET to our room was hard for my wife, who is very allergic. We spoke to 2 managers who said they couldn't move us to a different room because of being fully booked, and they said they couldn't help us find a different hotel. The manager DID offer us a discount on a future stay. I suggested that they should have smoking and non-smoking rooms on seperate floors, and he advised me that they were indeed making that change. I still feel that this hotel is overall a good place to stay, and if the room/floor changes are made we'd be willing to come back. For this particular visit, however, I'd have to say we were rather disappointed.

Good Stay

The room was very comfortable. The breakfast the next morning left a little bit to be desired. The hotel was full and the variety was sparse on the breakfast line. Some fresh fruit would have been nice. That is the only negative.

Very Comfortable

We chose this hotel because it was pet friendly. The fact it was so comfortable and had a pool was an added bonus. We will definately choose it for our next trip.

Excellent Value

Room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. The location was great...just across the way from several great restaurants and just a few minutes away from downtown Traverse City. Breakfast was good too. We definitely got a lot for the price...will be back!

Very pleasant atmosphere. Room was outstanding. Beds comfortable.Would definitely stay again and have added as a favorite hotel.

Needs Improvement

Room was very small. Tub and shower were broken and we were not able to get another room becuase the hotel was booked (this was our second room, by the way). We were not able to get extra towels or pillows when requested. We were supposed to have a "jacuzzi suite" and ended up with a bath tub with jets and a room so small the chair was against the bed, no room to walk anywhere. Might have been more satisfied with a regular room with lower expectations.

Very comfortable

The hotel was very clean. The beds were very comfortable. It was a little worn, but the cleanliness compensated.

Great room for the money

Our room was very clean and the bed and bedding were new and very comfortable. It was just a little bit cramped for the 4 of us with 6 days of luggage, but we were fine. My kids loved the pool and went swimming everyday and sometimes twice a day.

Needs customer service improvement

Had 3 different rooms. We waited until 1:00 for a room to be cleaned before we could change rooms. Breakfast quality was not good....poor quality of food. Customer computer in the lobby had lines across the monitor screen. We had internet access only in the room that was next to the front desk. The queen bed mattresses were very good.

Couple of comments.....

It was over the July 4th holiday weekend that we stayed in the TC Baymont Hotel. With the Cherry Festival beginning, the hotel was full. The staff was excellent and the room clean. However, the stairwells needs detailing (edge vacuuming). With only one elevator in the hotel, we used the stairs constantly. One other thing was that the TV remote did not work. After a trip to the front desk for new batteries, it still did not function properly (front desk staff was very nice).
