In central Pahihia in Northern New Zealand's Bay of Islands is the Pipi Patch Lodge. 50 meters from the beach and 900 meters from the wharf, the Pipi Patch Lodge allows guests to experience the natural environment on their own terms. Kerikeri Airport is 40 minutes from this property. The Lodge is just a two- minute walk from Pahihia wharf where shops and cafes await and where tour buses stop at the front door. Pipi Patch Lodge is one of four unique Beyond Backpackers properties across New Zealand, which provides a full range of centrally located backpacker-focused accommodations from private units to shared rooms.
Hotel Features. Internet access is available in the lobby. Laundry facilities are also available. The Pipi Patch Lodge offers non-smoking facilities. The front lobby is open 24 hours a day. Guests can relax by the pool or on the sundeck, make use of the complimentary bike hire and explore the area, or take a tour to the Bay of Islands.
Guestrooms. All Pipi Patch Lodge dorms and guestrooms have private patios or balconies and offer refrigerators and housekeeping services. Every room is heated.
Expert Tip. The Bay of Islands is world renowned for its fishing and sailing. American author Zane Grey, who was known for his writings about the wild west, which were in turn made into classic Western films, traveled to the Bay Of Islands during on a fishing expedition. His subsequent writing about the islands help to publicize them in the 1930s.
