Great location

Hotel is in great location - easy to the shops and restaurants. The air conditioner is quite noisy.

Housekeeping Problems

The prices were reasonable and the location was great but turnover was a problem. We stayed a week and our room was not made up until late afternoon after the turnover rooms. Towels were thin and parcelled out.

Good Location

If you want to walk around Banff this hotel is located right in the middle of all the restaurants and stores. Very accomodating and helpful front desk.

Great hotel in downtown Banff

I have stayed at this hotel twice and it is a solid choice for Banff ... right downtown, but 1 block from the busiest section so it is quiet. The location is its best feature. Parking was easy and included with the room. Only downsides: - no A/C, which made the room a little warm in late July, but good enough if you don't mind having a fan blowing all night - we left from 9am-2pm one day and put a "clean room" sign on the doorknob, but apparently they didn't read it. Not a big deal, they gave us new towels, but next time I guess we should have called the desk. - I think they put us in the worst room of the hotel (#142, on first floor next to the bar/lobby). Not noisy, luckily, but since there is no A/C, we needed the window open, so it was more awkward with the 1st floor location. Overall, we were happy with the place, great value for the money, best I have seen for being right near downtown. Banff is beautiful.

NOT value for money! stay away!

The first thing that I notice when I walked into the room was a 7" desk fan. I wonder "what the hack?" the room was extremely warm and the next thing that I did was to find the a/c switch. nowhere to be found. called the front desk and the answer was, NO A/C for this "HOTEL". Couldn't believe what I heard. No alternative - turned on the fan, opened the window, then got a mosquito bite. only to found out that the screen did not work cuz there was a 1cm gap on each side. Good luck w/ your stay!

Nice

Our stay was nice. We were surprised there is not air conditioning. The view out our room was great. It isn't every day we wake up and see mountians. The balcony was a extra room for us we needed the space. Room was average and the price was high. Normal tourist area. Would not stay in Banff again. To many people in a small area. Hotel staff were very nice and helpful. We needed to remind housekeeping that 4 people were staying in our room so we would have enough towels. Great location away from downtown noise. But close enough you can walk to the shopping and food downtown.
