Tipo de viaje: Family Reseña 1 de 488Roomy, Bright, and Convenient
I've used discount hotel services before and had moderate success. The Avenue exceeded my expectations. The room was spacious for an urban hotel, the view from the 30th floor was expansive, and the breakfast room on the 40th floor is unique with a panoramic view of the city.

Tipo de viaje: Romance Reseña 3 de 488Location!
The location of this hotel is perfect. It is right in the middle of where you want to be if visiting Michigan Ave/Navy Pier. The hotel it's self ... I'm not sure that it is worthy of the 4 stars. I'd give it 3 .. 3.5 if being generous. The lobby is small ( although reception very helpful and friendly ) and not what you would expect for a 4 star hotel in downtown Chicago. But for many that may not matter at all .. it doesn't to me. The room was clean enough but needed a little work. The carpet had snags/runs in it. The walls had large marks where suitcases have scared it. The windows needed a good cleaning. The bed was very comfortable and the room was large. Great views if staying on a high floor. A previous poster had mentioned the noise .. typical of a big city although I've stayed in downtown Chicago many times at various hotels and do not recall being awakened by the sirens like I was this night. If you're a light sleeper .. earplugs. Over all, very happy with the price paid and the location is perfect. I just don't think that the 4 stars is really warrented. It's great for a 3 star.

Tipo de viaje: Family Reseña 4 de 488Awesome Location and View...everything else needs work
For a great price we got a great corner suite with maaavalous [sic] views from the 37th floor. The location was perfect as it was 1/2blk from The Mag Mile and only about 3blks from the nearest L line. The location and views were 5 stars...I really wanted the rest to be better but it was just OK. I was torn on whether I would recommend it or not...if all you care about is location and views then yes I would recommend it. If you are looking for other things then probably not. We had several small complaints but in the end they added up to the lower score. The noise was terrible. It is right next door to Northwestern Hospital so you hear sirens all day and night (yes, even up high)...take this with a grain of salt b/c I have never stayed in a big city so maybe you hear that all the time even in other hotels. But it actually woke my wife and I up several times (and I wear earplugs!). The walls were also thin and we could hear lots of noise from neighbors beside and above us. In the suite, we had a nice "living room" area but the bathroom was TINY! The interior and decor were very nice and updated but I could have used way less "living area" and much more bathroom. My wife and I could not be in the bathroom at the same time (and that includes the tub). A few final gripes. The bathroom was dirty. There were lots of hairs (not ours) left on the floor and tub and was just gross. The towel rack in the tub was broken and barely hanging on. The A/C in the room was rattling like crazy and was very noisy. Just to reiterate, the location was great and so was the view (I could look at the view all day!)...but the little things just added up too much to be recommended. I don't know what other hotels in the area cost but if I returned to Chicago (which I hope to do b/c I LOVED it!) I would look elsewhere.

Tipo de viaje: With Friends Reseña 5 de 488Nice hotel BUT...
The staff at the hotel is fantastic. I told the front desk I was a photographer and they upgraded my room to a corner suite so I had a better view if I wanted to take photos. I opened the window to let a morning breeze into the room and being that there was no screen I also let in two giant spiders...they were quickly dispatched before the girlfriend came back in to the room.

Tipo de viaje: Special Event Reseña 6 de 488Disappointed
The Avenue Hotel is NOT worth four stars. The lobby has the ambience of a hospital waiting room. In the lobby, hotel personnel are stationed at small stands, like game show contestants. Their restaurant is located on the 40th floor, which we learned from another guest. It serves an overpriced buffet for breakfast. We never did learn if it was open for dinner, since there are no signs. There is a neat British style pup attached to the lobby, that serves a good, fairly priced breakfast Rooms are adequate, but bathrooms are small and lack water pressure. We had trouble balancing the heat in the room. It was always too cold or too hot. Hotel location is good, but next time, I'll pay more and go somewhere else.

The staff at Avenue Hotel know how to make you feel welcome... From arrival to saying thank you and good bye... We never felt that anything was a bother, or trouble no matter what the issue was... Loved our room, and the view...

Tipo de viaje: Not Provided Reseña 9 de 488Perfect Location for Price, and Really Fun Decor
My parents met me in Chicago, and my mom picked this hotel. She chose wisely. On the flipside of my trip when I was in Chicago again, I stayed here again. The location for the price really can't be beat, and the rooms are very nice with super comfortable beds. The only thing I saw that could use an update is the workout room. I have already recommended this hotel to my friends. Good food from room service too. Next time I want to try the restaurant on the top floor.

Only problem was pillows were loose polyester fiber that were not adequately supportive.

Tipo de viaje: With Friends Reseña 11 de 488Lovely hotel in a great location
Nice size rooms, with large bathrooms and plentiful towels, and a great exercise room. The coffee maker was interesting and new, but hard to use. The staff were helpful and friendly.
