Loved it!!

We were in town for the Atlanta Classic (Sept 25th - 27th) and chose this hotel. It was clean, the staff, and valet guys were extremely nice! We didn't know our way around town and they gave us ACCURATE directions to where we needed to go! The valet guys were SOOOOOO helpful, we tipped them heavily when we checked out! This was our first trip to the Classic and we've decided to make this an annual trip and stay at the Marriott everytime we come. The hotel is positioned on the corner, so it could become difficult to pull up in front of it if there's a crowd. But, the valet guys are quick. They get you out of your vehicle and have your car moved in no time so if you get to the front of the hotel and notice that the "round-about" in front of the hotel is full, don't worry b/c the wait isn't that long. When you're ready to leave, you can jus call the front desk and have them pull your car around before you get downstairs that way you won't have to wait for it. The parking fee is $28 a day BUT ALL PARKING in Downtown Atlanta is expensive so it pretty much comes with the territory. We were within walking distance of the GA Dome and restaurants.

Great place to stay

I was very pleased with this hotel! The room was very impressive, and extremely comfortable. Other than the valet that was nowhere to be found each time I came back to park my car, the other staff was on point. They even called us later to see if we received the shower cap we called down for. Oh yea, they delivered it in less than 2 minutes. I would highly recommend this hotel and will probably only stay there each time I revisit Atlanta.

Needs improvement

Room not available at normal check in time. Decided to go to a planned event and check in very late. keys were issued in advance. Upon return we tried to open the door and other guests were already in the room. Woke them up at 3:00am. They were not happy. Received new keys and it was wrong room again !!

The hotel staff were the Greastest!! You could not ask for a better location for seeing downtown Atlanta.

Corner room because we booked on hotels.com

The room we received was awful! We did not have a good nights sleep. We were placed in a corner room underneath the stairs, air condition, or something that made an awful, loud, rumbling noise the entire night. It was impossible to sleep and I was not pleased. Beware of booking here, because the hotels have a tendency to give you rooms that they want give customers who otherwise pay full asking price.

Great Hotel.....but

The hotel was great. The room was cozy and we had a great view of the Atlanta Skyline. I only have one complaint--the parking, or the lack thereof. The parking was 20 bucks a night,and there was no where close to the hotel that you could park. I had I been aware of the parking fee, I might have chose a different bank.

Transportation

They should inform guests about the shuttle that brings you to turner field, and the second thing that should be stated, and i may have missed it, is that there is only valet parking. Otherwise they had a nice staff anf a great hotel.

great hotel for short stay

Hotel was conveniently located in downtown Atlanta. There was no safety deposit box in the room, but you could use one at the front desk. I was also disappointed that there was not a small refrigerator in the room, but my stay was short (3 days), so I was able to compromise with my cooler. Upon arrival, I was informed that my room did not have a pull out sofa which I was relying on, but the front desk personnel was exceptional on upgrading my room and with a few other requests that we had. The hotel was a little dated and was in need of minor repairs, but all in all, I enjoyed my stay.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, however the valet service was very slow and inefficient. The bellman and room service was very slow.
