See more detailsLocation. Adjacent to a sandy beach in Airlie Beach, Australia, this small hotel is 200 meters from the town center and one kilometer from Able Point Marina.
Hotel features. Waterfront Whitsunday Retreat, a nonsmoking hotel, overlooks Pioneer Bay and its surrounding sandy beach and tropical rainforest. The hotel offers an outdoor pool and sundeck, tropical gardens, yoga classes, massage, bird- watching and tours to the Great Barrier Reef and other locations. Guests also have discounted access to a nearby gym. Complimentary Continental breakfasts are served daily. The hotel does not have a restaurant, but there are several in Airlie Village. Additional property amenities include a video library, local limo service and a picnic area. Valet parking is complimentary. Pets are not permitted at this hotel.
Guestrooms. The three-story hotel (no elevators) offers five one-bedroom suites and a three-bedroom penthouse. All include balconies with spa tubs and ocean views. Décor is contemporary with a color scheme of tan and brown with richly- finished wood furniture. Amenities include LCD televisions with cable channels, CD and DVD players and high-speed and dial-up Internet access. All suites include kitchens, dining areas and separate living areas. Massage and beauty services are available. The penthouse includes a four-poster bed draped in silk, a black marble bar with a wine refrigerator and a two- person rainshower in the master bathroom (shower only in all suites). All suites are nonsmoking.
Expert Tip. Hats, sunglasses and plenty of high-SPF sunscreen are strongly recommended for travelers who plan to spend a lot of time in the tropical sun.
