Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 1 of 259good value well positioned hotel

Trip Type: With Friends Review 2 of 259meh.
We would not stay here again. There was an extra charge for parking, of course, but internet was also an extra charge. It was very noisy; I guess it was the music at the bar that we heard late into the night and again early in the morning. Also, they serve a free continental breakfast, but only until 8:30!

Hotel was very comfortable in a great location. Downstairs retaurant, Tiki Bar & Grill, was very good also. Not much to the free breakfast, but To-go-bags were a nice touch. Also free use of beach chairs a great plus. Staff was always helpful & freindly.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 4 of 259A very good room for the money
I debated a number of hotels based on their reviews and booked the Aston Waikiki Beach hotel mostly on location. There were a number of 'blah' reviews but I found none of the issues other people had. The elevator was fine. It is a high tech version where the cabs stop on only certain floors. This is a really great system so that if you are on the 22nd floor you don't have to stop at every floor on the way down or up. The breakfast was a packaged deal. No better or worse than the airline. At least it is 'included' in the price. The staff is outstanding. We had a room right behind the elevator shaft that we would not accept and were moved promptly. The room had one engineering issue that was fixed within half an hour of calling it in. The room was very clean and of a good size. Most of my hotel stays are in New York so this was a palace sized room compared to there. I overheard other people complaining about some things in their room creeking and about the 'confusing' elevator. Did you get more than 400 on your SAT? You can figure out the elevator. This is also the tropics. Things get wet here and start to rust. The one thing that bothered me was the nickel and dime taking of the hotel. For example, it is $3.00 plus tax to use the safe in the room. $2.00 to get something warm at breakfast. $2.00 deposit for a room key. I expect to pay for the internet - a bargin at $10.00 a day and parking, $27/day with in and out. I started by saying this hotel has location and it does. It is an easy out of town to H1. The tiki bar downstairs is great for cocktails and music. I will have no problem staying here again on my next visit.

Rooms are very comfortable. We had partial ocean view, our air condition quit working so they put us in a full ocean view room. Great service.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 8 of 259singer and elevator
the room was comfortable. the bed was very comfortable. the elevators were terrible. they kept breaking down, and they have a system where you slide your key and they system tells you what elevator to use, a b c d e or f. but as i said the system kept breaking down and people had to use the stairs, which defys the system because anyone off the street can use the stairs to get to whatever floor they want. the other terrible thing is that they have a guy singing in the morning, and if your room is anywhere near the pool it will wake you up. he starts ant 7:30 am. the staff are nice and the room was comfortable and clean. would reccomend if it were not for the am singer and the elevators

The elevators were awful. It took forever to get down especially in the morning for the breakfast rush. Keep your tennis shoes handy its easier to take the stairs. Great for security I suppose. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Great location especially for nightlife.

Trip Type: Family Review 13 of 259Outstanding
Admittedly our room with a beach view has one of the best views on Waikiki and we could see past Pearl Harbor to Diamond Head from our balcony. Near the end of the business district this room was actually a reasonable quiet room considering it was looking over the street. If you want real quiet in Hawaii, go to another island. The elevators were high tech but simple to use and created less crowding. Everything was clean, all the staff were polite and the morning breakfasts were convenient and tasted fine every day for the week we stayed there. Trips/excursions were planned quickly and easily at the hotel. I don't know anything I'd change.

Trip Type: Business Review 14 of 259Wow!
This is a fine hotel..... clean and nice rooms, friendly staff, elevators work great, morning meals are easy and nice, ....I can't think of anything that wasn't nearly "perfect" If you make more than $500,00 a year maybe this won't fit your ego but I loved it and look forward to my return. I do recommend the rooms with the ocean view: best view in Waikiki.
