Trip Type: With Friends Review 2 of 34Wonderful staff, local-style hospitality, low rates
The only thing wrong with this beautiful old-style Maui hotel is that it's old and in run-down condition. Otherwise you can't beat it. Rates are the best on Maui. Staff is friendly and responsive. I lost my wallet and they returned it to me. The grounds are gorgeous and expansive. The kids played for hours in the large, well-designed pool. It's right across from the ocean, it's in Kihei but not way south in Kihei, so the location is very convenient. We used it as a base to hike the Haleakala Crater...

Trip Type: Romance Review 3 of 34Last night in paradise turned out to be a horror!
For out last night in Maui we decided to spend it on a beachfront property at what appered to be a very affordable price. Location is very good, rooms average nothing to exciting, kinda dingy but for the price, it works, sound of crashing waves makes up the difference. The bad- The check in went smoothly as we were greeted by Jen who was very sweet and friendly, we got to our room and for the rest of the evening were tortured by the sound of foot steps leading up and out of the room above us and by the cronic stomping taking place above our ceiling. We finally decided we'd had enough, and called the front desk and see if anything could be done. We were told it would be taken care of. nothing changed. Couple hours later and without sleep the stomping continued and had to talk the people ourselves to cut down the racket not once but twice. Front desk was notified in person and all we received was a shoulder shrug and a smile. No form of compensation or refund offered. We were told that any problems with our stay should be dealt with by Hotels.com. Needless to say we were not happy about how things were dealt with. no sleep all night :(

Fantastic ocean front room that is a must to spend the extra few bucks. Only problem was not even being able to hear the waves crashing to calm you due to the upstairs party that literalyy went on till after7am. It was horrible. Called front desk about it but nothing was done. Could have been a very cozy stay. There is only one restaurant nearby so make sure you are prepared to go into town to eat in Kiheu. Great foo, entertainment, and awesome shaved ice!

The sound of the rolling waves lulled me to sleep each night. They went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and would stay again.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 9 of 34Best deal as far as price. We were right on the ocean and could see whales!
Good room for the money. We stayed in a room right on the ocean and could see whales from our lanai! Close to restaurants and shopping and the beaches were awesome!

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 10 of 34Great room for the money
We loved the location of this Hotel. During our 7-day vacation to Maui we easily drove to all parts of the Island from this central location on S. Kihei Rd. Unlike many "newer" resorts, we enjoyed a room set back from the street with larger "lawn" and grounds, yet we could had a short walk across the street to beach, Pacific Whale Watch, restaurants, etc. We also enjoyed proximity of Calvary Chapel and the wonderful music produced most evenings there.

beautiful setting with a very large (for Hawaii) front yard. And minutes from the beach.

Trip Type: Family Review 12 of 34Cheap place to stay on the beach
Not glamorous, it's more of a motel, really - but it's right on the beach and in close proximity to bars, restaurants, grocery store, etc. And for the price, it's solid. Drawback is that it's right on the street as well, so in addition to the sound of crashing waves you hear cars driving by. I wouldn't stay here for more than, say, 2-3 days, but it's solid otherwise.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 13 of 34Scraping tree branch but management was responsive
I just wanted a simple place to stay since I was going to be out all day on the golf course. Room was what I expected from photos and previous reviews. I had a top room on the third floor and it was very spacious with a vaulted ceiling. Unfortunately, a tree branch would scrape the gutter whenever the wind kicked up during my final nights stay..., impossible to sleep even with ear plugs. Management allowed me to sleep in a vacant room the last night just a few doors down. Hopefully they have remedied the problem (room #308).
