Trip Type: With Friends Review 1 of 210Don't waste your money
this hotel is very old, dark, musty smelling, and gloomy. The room did not match the one pictured on website. The bedspread and throw pillows must be the original from when the hotel was built. The bathroom floor was swollen so the door had to be pushed open and shut. There was a vacuum upholstery attachment in the ice bucket. There are no vending machines and never did find the ice machine. The pool was unavailable. It is extremely noisy, not in the best part of town, not within walking distance to the strip. We stayed 2 nights and then checked out and went to a different hotel. Upon check out, we were charged $30.00 for 2 nights of parking. There is nowhere else to park in the area except at the hotel. We can say that the employees were polite and the lobby was musty smelling, but beautiful.

Trip Type: Business Review 2 of 210Neglected
This place was once an nice, interesting place. It is completely neglected. The maids room had a notice from the Vegas Health board. The room had broken furniture and crooked wall sconces. A complete mess at this time.

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 210smelly, dirty, crap beds
do I need to add to that? It smelled like the inside of a lemon pinesol bottle. My bed was so broken if you sat on it, you almost hit the floor. The highway ON RAMP outside our window was lovely, along with all the motorcylces and semi trucks revving it up to get on. I contemplated killing myself, but couldnt bare to leave my physical body in that living hell

Trip Type: Special Event Review 5 of 210Perfect for art lovers
It was kind of dark, with low ceilings, but if you like or know art, you will love the place. Just be ready to pay an additional $15 per night for parking and a resort fee

Trip Type: Romance Review 6 of 210A little different
This hotel is a little different. There are famous painting reproductions everywhere. Many I recognize from museums I have visited. The rooms are themed on specific artists. It is is dark with an almost gothic feel. It seems more suited to adults than family. The location is well off the strip in an industrial area. The pool is beautiful, equipped with lounges and cabanas. There was no public ice machine, but they bring ice to the room no charge. No huge crowds or casino to make your way through. Valet parking only on the hotel grounds, but the service was great. I have stayed here twice and will probably stay here again, next trip to Las Vegas.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 7 of 210Great for the money
Very nice and different. Each room had the artwork of different artists. In fact the entire hotel was decorated with beautiful art replicas from all over the world. There's a gentlemen's club just down the street and I believe the hotel may get sosme business from that establishment. It's a rendevous hotel. My toilet ran over and I wasn't offered another room. Parking is $11 a day which kinda defeats the purpose of the lower rate. I parked just around the corner and my vehicle was fine. I would go again, it just have a very quaint feel about it.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 8 of 210Needs Alot of Help
The lobby, pool, resturant and bar are fantastic. They seem to be short staffed and it looks like the owner has just stopped putting any money into the property. It has so much potential but no one is paying attention. Its actually very sad because when you talk to the employees they all had the same thing to say. The owner has stopped caring. I would recommend the bar and pool and resturant but the rooms are not so great. I wish they would put a little TLC into the place and then I would love to stay there again.

We were excited to stay at the Artisan as we had seen it before and thought it would be an adventure, well it was...The decor is very different and very cool, the rooms are themes of different artists and that was a very enjoyable feature..that said, the rooms are very tight and not a lot of storage, no shelf of any kind in the bathroom. We had a maintenance issue with the bathroom sink. It kept getting stopped up, we called 3 seperate times to get it fixed, and nothing happened. The third time, we could tell someone had been there, as there were plumbing pieces on the floor and our towels and floormat were missing and had not been replaced. Very cool hotel, with some major service issues.

Trip Type: Business Review 10 of 210Odd place really bad for Families and Children
When I first saw pics of this hotel it looked very cool and different so I was excited. When we drove up we couldn't find self parking. We found out they don't have one!!! Mandatory Valet parking which they forget to tell you they charge you $11.00 a day for on your bill. When we got there a wedding had taken over the lobby so we couldn't get to the front desk or elevator without a hassle. Front deck guy looked like he hated his life he seemed stressed not very talkative. Our first room was under construction so we got a new room and were not upgraded for out inconvenience which is common practice at most hotels. So the second room was nice but the entire building is dark and creepy like the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland. haha Here's the worst part WARNING::: While flipping through the channels I came across their channel 69 which is a HARDCORE PORN DVD playing 24/7 to the whole hotel every room. Now if you an adult and would like free porn this might be a plus but if you have a family with you this might traumatize your children luckily my daughter was home. The only reason we could figure out why they do this is because their TV doesn't sell movies or games so to accommodate guests who might want porn they have an unblocked porn channel. I think this could really scare off a lot of customers.

Trip Type: Family Review 11 of 210what a joke!
When my family arrived at 11am for our 2 rooms they told us that check in wasnt until 4 but if i came back at 2 maybe one of the rooms would be ready. We went and did a little shopping and came back and they allowed us to put our luggage in the one room that they said was ready. Upon entering the room I immediately had to use the restroom and to my surprise the toilet did not flush it just filled up with water to the top of the bowl. I told the clerk at the desk of my issue and she said she would have maintenance look at it and wrote it down on a sheet of paper that probably had 20-25 other guest issues written on it. I only glanced and saw one customers complaint was that the bathtub wouldnt drain. There were 2 other issues that I had with this hotel since I took my entire family of 7 we have a 15 year old girl and 9 and 8 year old girls as well. As you scroll through the regular tv channels there is a hardcore XXX channel in the middle of all the other channels that is more than just a little graphic....not good with children around...it makes for alot of questions. Also we tried to order room service that night for the kids as the hotel is off the beaten path and no restaurants are close by but were told by the attendant that there was a wedding going on downstairs and was being catered by the dining staff and so any food would be unavailable to us. I thought this to be absurd and was told if I had an issue with this to speak with the manager about it at 8am. I didnt stick around long enough....and if thats not enough...there is no self parking at the hotel only valet...which isnt a big deal because im a pretty good tipper but this hotel charges additionally for parking $15.00 per night per room to park in addition to any tips you may give the valet runners. You would definitely be better off paying $20-30 more per night somewhere else to have the amenities you would like to have with no issues rather than stay here.....I wouldnt go back if it were $5.00 per nigh

Trip Type: Romance Review 12 of 210Funky but cool
I was a little disappointed that there was no early check in available. We arrived around 1pm after a 6 hour drive and were told we had to come back at 3pm. Fortunately we were allowed to use the pool until check in was available. The pool was ice cold and a little dirty but considering it was October, I guess not many folks were using it. Once you get passed the surrounding area the actual hotel is really cool looking. The art work and dark setting is funky but really spectacular. The room was clean but the shower leaked so water was being wasted. But it was well worth the price. I was a little bummed to be charged for parking when we weren't even able to park at the resort. The parking lot was full of some shady looking guests and packed with cars so we had to park on the street which as I mentioned above, the surrounding area was less than desired. Overall, it was a really cool looking hotel on the inside and well priced. Just don't expect the frills and extras you would get at some of the larger casino hotels and you won't be disappointed.

Trip Type: Romance Review 13 of 210Cool, but needs new management
The hotel was what we were looking for and expecting as far as a good place to chill-ax after a grueling month. Dark, but warm and inviting. Very cool pool area; good bar; good bed. The 1st room we were given was occupied (an uncomfortable moment) and the 2nd room was just plain dirty. The carpet was unbelievable for a hotel of this caliber. The staff behind the counter weren't 'all that' like they thought they were. With some more attentive management, the place would be a real gem.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 14 of 210Poor customer service
My door would not open with keys provided so we had to get the front desk to let us in. We asked 4 times in a 2 day span to get it fixed with nothing happening. Alot of broken promises. The hotel also would not put us in the room we reserved and I overheard them doing the same thing to other guest as well. Run from this property.....

Trip Type: Special Event Review 15 of 210GROSS
"Minutes from the strip" is relative. Its about a $20-25 cab ride each way to any of the more popular locations on the strip. It is near the 'old strip' where all the dated, run-down hotels still are. The place is, as my god-daughter expressed to me "creepy." The musty smell greets you right after the valet guy in his tattered uniform aggressivly throws your luggage on the broken cart for you. And yes, he still want his tip while he tells you to bringthe cart back down because it's their only one. The room, while it may have appeared clean couldnt have been, because there was the last guest used soap left in the shower. The linen was dingy and musty. The resturant was out of eggs at 11am although they don't open until 9am. The lobby ceiling had a leak with a white painter's bucket collecting yellow water. Housekeeping personnel made loud personal phone calls while riding in the elevator with me and my child. Guests room service trays were left n the hallway for hours and overnight from our breakfast, which was burnt bacon and yes! dare I say it rotten strawberries and pinapple! The only reason I didn't check out was because my best friend's wedding was planned there for that weekend. I wanted her to focus on the unity rather than the disaster of the hotel and its accomadations
