Geat Hotel

This hotel is great for the price. It's in Omonia which is the downtown of Athens. Like any big city just be smart when you walk around as the Greeks told me there's petty crime like pick pockets etc. Just be smart like in any city and you'll be fine. There's a few cafe's next to and across the street which were very friendly. The Hotel service is great and the woman who do the breakfast were great and it was a good breakfast. I travel all over the world and would stay in this hotel again if need be. The reception people were great and Steve the evening bartender was great as he gave me ice when I needed it. Thanks

Cheap cheap

Hotel was pretty average for a cheap hotel in Greece. It was, however, extremely cheap. I think I got it for 50% off of the back of the listed price through Hotels.com. The only downsides are the internet only works in the lobby even though they appear to have it set up all over, the tv reception sucks, and the location was pretty far away from anything I wanted to see and it's pretty far from a metro station.

stay here (if only for the owner)

The hotel owner is unbelievably rad. Not only will he go out of his way to provide you with information but he'll also probably tell you some Greek history or local myths. Memorable entertainment for sure. The room was quite large, had its own balcony, AC, a nice large shower (very rare for Greece). Breakfast was standard but generous. People often complain about the Omonia Square location, but it's perfect for proximity to subway and attractions. As long as you're smart about it the neighborhood won't be an issue.

Nice Management

The management of this hotel was very kind and helpful. The hotel was also only a few blocks from the Metro Station which made it convenient for getting around Athens. The room was not fancy, but the quality was expected based on the price we paid. The neighborhood seemed a little unsafe at night, so we avoided being out late and everything was fine.

Great room for the money

I thought the hotel's decor was great, its not what i expected and took me by surprise. I enjoyed my stay and the receptions desk employees were great. They were very helpful, friendly and nice. The room had a balcony and the view was relaxing. The view of the main street was soothing to my traveling and enjoyable to see the everyday life go by.

You get what you pay for

The air conditioner didn't work and when we asked to have it looked at or our room changed, the desk worker said 'to give it time, it just needs to warm up'. It warmed up alright. Good thing we were in Athens in June and not August. We also inquired about a well known bus company that takes your to the ferries and the desk worker had no idea what we were talking about. We walked out of the front of the hotel, asked the first person on the street if they knew where it was and said 'of course'. It was 3 blocks away in the middle of a hectic square. Should have people working the desk that are more familiar with Athens.

Cigarette Smoke everywhere

This neighborhood is sketchy at best; taxi ride to see Acropolis or Plaka is about $40. Not close to anything!

Desk Staff was pleasant and helpful. Spartan but clean. Our room was near the staircase and VERY noisy.

Good location, very helpful reception

This hotel is at a very good location, a 5-minute walk from a major train station. The rooms are simple but adequate, ideal for a budget traveller or tourist. No extra frills in the room. Wireless internet was a plus. The location is a bit seedy at night, but still there are always people around. The best part about this hotel is the extremely helpful reception. We needed a lot of help with our visit in Athens and the staff was very helpful at all times. They went out of their way to help us extend our stay and even find us a room at another hotel when we needed a room but their hotel was full.

If you're a brave soul, stay here

We found the hotel room to be quiet clean. Unfortunately there was smoking allowed int he hallways and in the lobby area. The neighborhood is very dirty (almost down right filthy) and the streets are quite sketchy. The staff members are nice but that dies not balence out all the other negatives of this establishment We are college girls from Boston and we still couldn't handle the noise of our surroundings...basically it's not recommended.

Great staff! Good location! Free internet!

The staff was completely wonderful. The neighborhood may seem a little rough, but my friend & i are young petite girls & just made sure to be extra careful at night. During the day there are many people out so we felt very safe. There are TONS of places to shop & it is near the metro. It cost about $.80 & about 10 minutes on the metro to see the acropolis. I will def come back to this hotel if I ever come back to athens. what a great staff! STAY HERE!! FREE INTERNET & BREAKFAST TOO!!!!!!!!!!

Great Value for money

We loved our stay at the hotel. Though the elevator needs some upgrading, this was more than made up by the location, quality of service, and the helpful and friendly attitude of the receptionist. the complementary breakfast along with free 24 hour web access made it worth the money. we stayed in the 6th floor and had a balcony which was good. It is located close to Ommonia sqaure (15 min walk holding a 2 year baby). there were eateries and shops below for groceries/pharmacy that was helpful when my child fell ill. they were a bit stingy on the soap replacements that we had to go to the receptionist to obtain new one. but overall we would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Athens.
