What do you mean you don't have irons?

Arriving at the hotel to attend a wedding in Cuernavaca at 6pm we unpacked and looked for an iron to iron our clothes prior to a dinner with other wedding guests. No iron. Call to the front desk and was informed the hotel does not have irons to lend, but has a laundry service that will be open tomorrow at 7am. I really have never heard of a hotel that does not have irons. grrrr..off to dinner in wrinkled clothes. What looked like 5 miles on the map prior to booking turned into a 30 minute cab ride with light traffic. Not the hotel's fault but if you have any plans of actually leaving the hotel during your stay this is not the hotel for you. There are never cabs waiting, its a long way to anywhere and there is nothing within walking distance. This ended up playing havoc with trying to meet up with other guests visiting for the wedding we were attending. This was our biggest issue. The hotel caters mostly to Mexican guests and as a result we ended up dissatisfied with the breakfast buffet selections as not being to our taste. The customer service was a bit hit and miss. Many staff members were not overly friendly or helpful while others (the manager on duty for example) were very attentive. Don't expect alot of smiles or warm greetings but you will not be ignored. The room was in need of renovation but everything worked and was acceptably clean for the price compared to the other area hotels. I speak Spanish so I have no idea if the staff speaks English - can't make any comments about that for the non Spanish speakers. Not expensive (for good reason) and also not convenient.

Needs Improvement

It was o.k. for the money, I guess. Had problem with taking a shower at night. Problems with hot water.
