Trip Type: Family Review 1 of 38Great for the money.
This was a great hotel for the money. It was right across the street from the beach. It was very small though. It did have a balcony where we could enjoy the sights and sounds of Waikiki Beach. It is an older hotel. It was fairly clean for its age. The location and price is what we were looking for. Nice stay.

Trip Type: Romance Review 2 of 38Great location.
Across the street from the beach. Street side rooms had a great view of surfers and free weekend music and dance performances.

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 38Great location
I've stayed at many hotels in the area including the Hyatt, Hilton, Outrigger, etc and this one had the best location and price. It isn't a 5 star hotel, but the ocean view is spectacular and the beach is right their. Make sure you get an ocean view or you won't be pleased.

This hotel is indeed in a great location directly across from the Waikiki beach, but the guestrooms need remodeling.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 7 of 38Great location
The hotel is not pretty or high end, and Chinese theme may creep you out, but the location is superb, across from the famous Waikiki beach! The hotel also let you use the towels for the beach, which is also great.

Trip Type: Romance Review 8 of 38Great Hotel - Great location - Great Price!
The Aqua Waikiki Beachside is in a great location - has a great staff - and you can get a great view! The breakfast was limited, but you could def get by on the pastries and muffins. The only bad thing was that parking is not included in the price - so that ended up costing us extra. At least the garage was super close. I would stay here again. We met lots of cool people at breakfast each day and the hotel staff gave us pointers on where to go and what to do. Great hotel!

Trip Type: Business Review 9 of 38AWESOME!!!
This was an awesome hotel. The hotel employees were all friendly and helpful, even happy. Disneyland is supposed to be the happiest place on earth, but I think this is another one. The room was on the small side, but the oceanview balcony was great. The room was very clean. We would definitely stay in this hotel again. The continental breakfast was simple but nice and was enough to start our day. Parking is valet and just around the corner, very convenient.

Trip Type: Romance Review 10 of 38Can't Beat the Convenience and Price
Hey, you go on vacation NOT to sit in the hotel don't you? Our room was perfect! The bed was very comfortable, room was clean. There was the wallpaper that was starting to peel and the cabinet in the bathroom was looking like it had too much water exposure, the continental breakfast wasn't anything to crow about and was only served for one hour; but again, hey - for the price and convenience we do not have any complaints in this hotel or this room. We stayed there for 8 nights and were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. We were not disappointed one iota!! My sis and her husband stayed at the exact hotel on the same floor (5th) a month earlier and said it was perfect and they would go back. We would too - in a heartbeat!! Thanks Waikiki Beachside for a very memorable trip.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 11 of 38Perfect Location, needs some updating
This hotel was in the best location possible for the price. It is directly across from the beach, on the same street as most of the major Waikiki shopping, and 2 blocks from the bus lines. Our room was on the 4th floor looking straight at the beach, we could see all the activities going on there very easily. It is right across from the swim area (very busy but great area). The rooms themselves were very small, we had 2 twin beds and there was barely enough room for our extremely large suitcases. But who spends all their time in the room anyways? The only real complaint I had for the room was the water. I thought it smelled like rotten eggs and I was nervous to even brush my teeth in it (apparently all of Hawaii water is pretty bad). It also would have been nice to have internet in the room without having to pay a $200+ deposit for it. The 2nd floor lobby has a free wireless internet connection but it is really slow. The service in the hotel was great, everyone was super friendly and wanting to make the guests happy. I liked that there were free beach towels for your use. There is only 1 elevator that is really slow and tiny (max 3 average people can fit). You really can't beat the price for this location, even with the bad smelling water I would stay here again and recommend it to everyone I know.

Trip Type: Romance Review 12 of 38Great Location
Very convenient location. The hotel is right across Waikiki Beach and just 2-3 blocks from the International Market Place. There are plenty of eateries around from Sushi to McDonalds, and there's an ABC store right next door. The price was reasonable for the location, considering we had an oceanfront room with a lanai (room 303). (rooms ending in 1, 2 or 3 face the ocean and they charge more if you're on the upper floors - 12 being the top) Our room was fairly clean. There was a small fridge and a complimentary safe. Having visted Hawaii many times and living there for 3.5 years, I didn't expect much - and our plans really just called for beach time. I'd stay there again if I could get a similar price.

Trip Type: Romance Review 13 of 38Great room for the money
Most hotels in Waikiki are old because they are in the historical area. So do not expect hotels (for this price range) to be luxury like Sheraton or Hyatt. The Aqua Waikiki Beachside Hotel is an old hotel, but is nice and clean. It's at the best location. It's across from the beach, in the middle of the restaurant and shopping area, and is 2 blocks away from the Interntional Market. There is a stage right on the beach that I got to watch a free hula dance and listen to the Hawaiian music.

Trip Type: Romance Review 14 of 38Excellent location from Waikiki beach
We stayed in Room 306 from 7/2-7/5 in 2009. The view outside our balcony is of the open area below. It would have looked better with the fountain operating, but it was turned off. I would recommend spending more for a room with an ocean view (on the other side of the hotel). The hotel has no name on the South street side, so be sure you know the street name and number! The beach is just outside the front of the hotel, right across the street. One ABC store is just to our left from the entrance facing the beach, with an open-air windowless MacDonald's just further down. Further away toward the NW are a Burger King, Subway, and a Jack In The Box. At the time we were there, the hotel provides free use of white towels we can bring to the beach and back. Continental breakfast was only from 7:30 to 8:30, but decently stocked, with pastries, fruits, juices, and Starbucks coffee (but no milk or butter).

Trip Type: Special Event Review 15 of 38Aqua Waikiki Beachside
If you are looking for a comfortable, budget hotel in a great location this is a safe choice. Pacific Beach is directly across the street and there are numerous shops and restaurants within walking distance. The trolley picks up / drops off right out front as well. The hotel staff was great. The room was perfect for sleeping and showering...not much else. Then again, we were looking for something solid, but cost effective. Before I booked, I read several 'critical' reviews from previous guests and I completely disagree.
