Trip Type: Family Review 1 of 7Great Deal
The staff is great - our room was wonderful (except the shower seemed to get everywhere) - It was a place with plenty to do but could be extremely relaxing if that's what you choose. I would recommend this location with or without children.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 2 of 7Overall ok - but wouldn't go back
Hotel overall was nice. Front desk service not too good - when we checked in they had cancelled one of our rooms and asked for a credit card in order to give us a room. Front desk acted like they were doing us a favor by giving us a room. Only to find out the next day that the hotel wasn't nearly half full. Of course, there was no cancellation or refund given on our credit card. When we asked to look up reservation info on internet (hotels.com) they wanted to charge us an internet fee. We were told to speak to the hotel manager the next day - only he was never in the office over our 5 day stay to speak to us. Dining room and bar service was really good and servers very friendly. Food was just ok - typical all inclusive cafeteria. Mexican restaurant was horrible. There is only 3 choices for food, not eight as advertised (mexican, italian, and buffet). Two bars - one in lobby and one at pool/outside area. There was no fitness center. There are safes, but the hotel doesn't have enough keys for each room. We were lucky to get one to share at an additional charge. Because we went in May which is off season, the entertainment advertised did not happen. There was not one nightly performance on the stage area, only one night at dinner there was dancers. Nor did the disco open or stay open nightly. Pool was really nice, clean and large. Beach was also nice, with black sand and lots of shade. The hotel is in the middle of no where, so you are stuck staying in the compound unless you have a car. But the closest town is at least 30 minutes away.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 5 of 7Beautiful Setting
Very pretty location, average rooms and food. Staff very nice, especially if you try to speak at least a little Spanish. Fairly remote from big ecotourism attractions such as Arenal volcano and cloud forest, resulting in very long bus rides. Definitely rent a car if you stay here! Food very repetitive, but the fruit was excellent. Don't stay longer than 4-5 days; gets old after that. Definitely go to the bar uphill at the lobby area for the view at sunset!

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 6 of 7Affordable Option
In this exact location in Costa Rica, this is the only affordable choice. The next affordable hotel is 45 minutes away. Considering the food is all buffet style and served to hundreds of people at a time, it is quite good and the diningroom serviers are very friendly and helpful!

Trip Type: Romance Review 7 of 7Had a good time inspite of this Hotel
The pool was nice and very clean. The food was adequate, but by the end of the week it all tasted the same. The air conditioner leaked all over the floor the whole time there. We found out it was not just ours, but many others did also. Front desk could care less. Bathroom sink stopper was broken. None of the ice machines worked. Housekeeping often forgot to leave towels, washclothes or coffee. One time they took away one of our pillows. Bugs everywhere - crawling on the bathroom sink, dead on the floor, live spyder found in bed. Resort was on the side of a very steep hill. You could walk down, but not up most of the time. There was a mini van to drive you around when they felt like it. No elevators and no help with luggage to the 3rd floor. We should have done our homework before going there.
