The hotel is located within a safe neighborhood next to a park and a school. Chinatown and Kensington Market are within walking distance. The hotel room was more of a studio. I can see why everyone has compared it to a college dorm room because it provides no frills. Despite that initial impression, it provided all of the basic ammenities that someone on a budget would need. It's great if you want to save money on food because of the kitchen and it is fine for a place to crash if you are going to be out all day. The selling feature for me was the free high speed internet in the hotel room. The only con was that it isn't wireless so two people can't be on the internet at the same time because there's only one ethernet cord.

Location. Less than one mile from Rogers Centre, formerly known as the Skydome, the Alexandra Hotel is located in downtown Toronto, Ontario. Just one mile from Bloor Street and the Yorkville district, where designer boutiques have replaced what once was the center of bohemian activity in Canada. Museums, galleries, shopping and dining are all within a few blocks of the property. There is no shortage of exhilarating nightlife, particularly in Yorkville, which is known as somewhat of "party central", especially during the Toronto International Film Festival. The fifth most populous city in North America, Toronto is culturally diverse and features many lush parks and plenty of interesting architecture. The last decade has brought the city fame for being "Hollywood North". Many films have been shot here in recent years, most of the time with Toronto standing in for European or American cities.

Hotel Features. The front desk staff are on hand 24-hours to assist guests. Coin-operated laundry facilities are located on each floor.

Guestrooms. Each of the studios at the Alexandra Hotel features a kitchenette with a refrigerator, range and microwave oven. Cable television is standard and high-speed Internet access is available upon request.

Expert Tip. Thousand of events occur annually at the Harbourfront Centre, located two miles from the inn and featuring a plethora of activities, attractions, shopping and dining venues. Visitors can watch artisans blow glass, meander through the Artist's Gardens or visit the delightful Toronto Music Garden.
