AKA Central Park - Residence Style Hotel

a dud with great location

This is as impersonal as a hotel can get. Teeny lobby, bored staff. Coffee machine but you have to buy your own coffee! no minibar, no vending machines, you have to supply all (tho you get a kitchen with microwave, fridge and coffeemaker as part of your deal...go figure) The room and kitchen area are spacious and comfortable, although barely furnished and not decorated at all. The bathroom could not be smaller. GREAT location, good price for the location, but a dud.

AKA New York Central Park

Wow!! this hotel exceeded all my expectations!! I walked in and was greeted to a well trained staff, The room was very plush and modern. I stayed for 8 days at this hotel and have traveled to New York several times for busienss and pleasure this by far the best hotel I highly recommend and I WILL stay at AKA again and again from this day foward. Free Laundry machines downstairs, great exercise room! Cable internet Free!! Amazing!! Walking distance to everything you need.

Bring ear plugs

the hotel seems to cater for people staying for months at a time rather than days. If you are staying just a few days prepare to get bad service. I was there 3 nights and after my first night I asked if I could switch room as the air con unit was so noisy. I tried opening the window but there was another air con unit right outside the window that made even more noise. The hotel said they would try and find another room. I repeatedly checked back to no avail. Then my room didn't get cleaned one day. When I called at 6pm to ask them if they could service it they said the housekeeping staff had all gone but that they'd be sure to clean it the next day - wow. To summarize am expensive noisy room with poor service. I won't be going back.

AKA Central Park NYC

Very nice room with separate sitting area with couch suitable for sleeping, small kitchen. Very modern, nice appliances, TVs, bed, etc. Free laundry in a very nice room with TV and free soap. Breakfast is minimal, but OK. Computers in breakfast area for web access, free wireless and wired in room...very fast.

excellent stay

What a surprise! This hotel is excellent and what a location! New, clean, and great staff.
