Trip Type: Special Event Review 1 of 192Wouldn't go back
Hotel had an odd and unpleasant odor, starting in the lobby and continueing throughout halls, rooms, etc. VERY noisy, inside and out. Had to buy earplugs to sleep. Outdated furnishings, stained rug in room. Staff very nice; great happy hour drinks and prices. I won't be returning.

Trip Type: Family Review 3 of 192Great place, especially for plane lovers!!!!
The breakfast is wonderful... HOT food, restaurant, not continental breakfast. Gary the front desk clerk was wonderful. Seeing the planes and hearing them take off and land was a blast! The hotel wasn't outdated as some of the other reviews said, the rooms were really nice with wonderful comfy pillows.... Only one little issue - no wireless internet, had to use a cable, but it was free, so why complain.... free parking, heated pool and large hot tub.... will definitely stay again when we visit the LA area. Thank you!

Trip Type: Family Review 4 of 192Nice Stay
Room was comfortable and clean. Free internet was a huge plus! Toilet was a little troublesome due to the way it flushed. (Make sure the paper is in the water and not on the sides) Van Nuys airport was a bit noisy but they stop flying at night. Loved the separate vanity area from the toilet and shower. Helped when three of us were trying to get ready. Nice pool and hot tub. Would stay again although the area seemed a bit worry some at times.

Trip Type: Business Review 6 of 192Needs Improvement
My first night was horrible. The mattress was so old that the springs were popping out and nearly killed my back. I asked for a different room the next day and got one. The bed was better but not by much. It's not a bad place but they definitely need to invest some money in updating the interior and certainly the mattresses. I felt safe here and the staff was good.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 8 of 192A nice place to stay
The hotel offered a comfortable room and an exceptionally pleasant staff. The dining room and bar were excellent. However, my stay at the hotel was for pleasure rather than business, and I wished the surrounding neighborhood would have been more conducive to walking and exploring.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 9 of 192Outstanding Hotel
I loved that the air conditioner kept the room "COLD" to accomodate my Hot Flashes!! The bed and pillows were very comfortable. We had the airport runway right outside our room which we loved. The double paned windows kept most of the noise out and planes didn't take off during the night. The room was clean except for the cob webs on the window sill, even after I left the Draperies wide open for Housekeeping to see them.

Trip Type: Family Review 10 of 192Great Room
Very spacious room. Quiet neighborhood. We felt very safe. The rooms are large with separate makeup and toilet facilities, a couch and desk. I especially liked the little things such as the large bath towels, the free internet connection and the ability to print our boarding passes.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 11 of 192Needs signs for non functioning item
Large room well maintained. Although others have complained about aircraft noise, we did not have any problem as we kept the windows closed and that provided excellent sound cancellation. Also we asked at check in for a room that would minimize any aircraft noise. For those who like to watch aircraft, this is an absolutely excellent hotel as there are some rooms that are practically on the runway, i.e. it is right outside their window. I was upset by the fact that the ice machine did not have an out of order sign, or any note as to where the next one could be found

We thought the restaurant was a little pricey, and none of the vending machines worked but other than that we had a wonderful stay.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 13 of 192Comfort and Entertainment
I've always wanted to be the first kid on the block to discover something truly unique. Airtel Hotel is just the place. We visit about five stays per year. It is comfortable, has a safe campus, and provides unique entertainment from the annual reunion for "General Hospital" fans and stars, to the state backgammon tournament, to the recent California Mustang Car Show! And if you have the experience of being welcomed by Night Manager Gary, you will feel like one of the celebrities in the vicinity! He has the greatest smile and does everything he can to please. This may not be the hotel for the finicky but it is the hotel for guests requiring comfort, safety, great value, and on-site interest. The adjacent Van Nuys airport observes curfew for good sleep! And the free shuttle to the Van Nuys Flyaway makes the LA airport accessible.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 14 of 192Hotel stay was very satisfying
This is a very nice hotel and it is very well maintained. They really take good care of the grounds. The bar is beautiful, very nicely decorated. The restaurant, although I didn't eat there, looked very classy. I spent some time at the pool and I was very impressed with its size and the nice, clean, spacious area surrounding the pool. The staff was very helpful and friendly and they responded immediately to our requests; we received very good service. Even though it is next to an airport, it is amazingly quiet. With the deal we received through Hotel.com, it was well worth the price we paid for our stay and I would recommend this hotel. The only complaint I have is the surcharges. 5.00/day for fridge, same for microwave. 10.00/day for parking. Don't understand why a classy place would have these charges.
