Trip Type: Not Provided Review 1 of 139Spacious rooms
Rooms are on the larger side; having a kitchenette in the room is useful.

Trip Type: Business Review 2 of 139Nice Midtown Boutique Hotel
The Affina 50 is a small, well appointed boutique hotel located in a nice neighborhood, with plenty of restaurants, bakeries, and small shops. The room I had was large, for NYC and modern. Hotel was quiet, and windows were well insulated from street noise. I would stay there again.

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 139no windows
To be fair, my dissatisfaction with stay may have been specific to my room and I was too exhausted and rushed to ask for a room change, so the hotel staff had no chance to remedy the situation. That said, my room had a foot tall "slit" of window feet above eye-level which looked out on a brick wall. Even in the middle of the day, there was virtually no natural light in the room. Also, there was a problem with the heat-the room was never below around seventy eight degrees. It seems this was an old problem, as a noisy and inneffective box fan was conspicuously displayed. Everything else was lovely and the staff very kind, but nothing could make up for feeling like I was trapped in a hot, windowless dungeon.

Trip Type: Romance Review 4 of 139Small Rooms
I understand NY can be an expensive vacation, but I always look for value and comfort. The room had no windows and a fan to cool the room and it was small. We were given a jr suite at no charge, but what I was charged for the regular room should have put me in a jr suite from the start. I was very disappointed with the photos of the room and getting a room that didn't compare to the experience in the review. It would be nice to see photos of the rooms available at the price being offered.

Trip Type: Business Review 5 of 139Excellent Accomodations
We were extremely satisfied with all aspects of the hotel. The one bedroom suite is very roomy and comfortable. The staff was accomodating to all requests, suggestions and directions. It was a reasonable walk to 5th Ave., Central Park and Times Square. The neighborhood was good. We would definitely stay again.

Trip Type: Romance Review 10 of 139Most comfortable beds anywhere!
The rooms are big by NYC standards and the beds are the most comfortable I've ever stayed in. The location is perfect. An easy walk to 5th Ave at St. Pat's. There is a luncheonette a couple of doors down that makes the best cappuccino. We always stay here when we visit the city.

Trip Type: Family Review 11 of 139Great value and great location
We were thrilled with our hotel suite. Plenty of space for our family of five! The hotel staff was very friendly, helpful and accomodating. We all loved selecting our pillow from the "pillow menu", too. I will definitely stay at the Affinia 50 next time we go to NYC.

Trip Type: Family Review 13 of 139Good choice for a suite in NYC; meets the basics
We chose this hotel because we need an affordable suite location for a family trip to NYC. Location was good -- quick walk to Rockefeller Center / Central Park / etc. Street was not overly busy. Suite was a good size. Bathroom was a nice size and modern/pleasant. Kitchenette was very dated, but clean. The low point was the lobby and common areas (hallways) and the staff. Concierge was worthless and never seemed to be available when needed (such as on a Saturday, mid-day). Front desk staff was worthless when asking for neighborhood recommendations. Elevator service was slow. Elevator noise in our room was significant in all rooms but the bedroom. Overall, a decent, functional choice. Nothing spectacular.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 15 of 139Nice but noisey
The hotel overall was very good, but the noise from the streets was loud. I suggest the hotel install windows that suppress the noise. The first night there I got little sleep, and the others weren't much better.
