The Good and Bad of the Aeropoto Othon

The continental breakfast was the best thing about this hotel...it was quite complete. The hotel is in an unsavory part of downtown and the area can be dangerous at night...also you are not allowed to take a guest to your room, so if you have a visitor as I did--there is no place to sit and have a conversation as the computer room/lobby is very small and unsuitable.

"Great bargain"

The hotel is located in Centro near the domestic airport. I stayed for two nights, arriving late Sunday night and departing Tuesday for weeklong stay in a condo in Copocabana with friends. The hotel had free breakfast buffet that was good and the location was a few minutes from Lapa where there are alot of local bars and clubs. It was an interesting change of pace before heading off to Copa and Ipanema. Centro has alot more activity than I expected an way more when compared to the side streets of Copa andIpanema. I had no problem walking around the area at night unlike some the stories I heard about crime being an issue at night.
