    The hotel was more than we expected - very modern, well decorated, ideally located. The staff paid attention to every detail, including noticing that the day we checked in was also my birthday - they presented me with a bottle of champagne and gave us an upgraded room on the top floor at no cost. The restaurants range from the casual garden to the more upscale, all with well prepared and beautifully presented choices. We had stayed in a hotel closer to the older section of Zurich on our original stop in the city, but should have chosen Moevenpick for both stays as the shuttle to the airport leaves every 15 minutes and from there you can catch a train for the 10 minute trip to the main station in the heart of the older section of Zurich. Moevenpick rates were substantially less than the other hotel, so the savings would more than pay for the train ride if we didn't already have a Eurail Pass. Moevenpick is the only hotel I would chose again in Zurich!

Location. The Movenpick Hotel Zurich-Airport is located in Glattbrugg, Switzerland, two kilometres from the airport and 10 kilometres from Zurich's medieval city centre. Kloten-Balsberg train station is one kilometre from the hotel.

Hotel Features. The Movenpick Hotel Zurich- Airport's lobby features geometric armchairs and designer lights. The concierge desk can arrange bicycle hire or offer sightseeing advice, and there is a currency exchange. There is a kids' club and a patio.

The hotel's Movenpick Restaurant serves international favourites and Mediterranean specialities in a spacious parquet-floored dining room. The restaurant has a beer garden and outdoor terrace. Guests can browse the extensive wine list in Appenzeller Stube, the hotel's French/Swiss fusion restaurant. There's Chinese cuisine and furnishings at Dim Sum restaurant or drinks in the Lobby Bar, which has a square wooden bar.

The hotel has 13 meeting rooms for up to 350 people, a business corner in the lobby, and wireless Internet access throughout.
