    My wife and I were on a trip to VT and wanted to find a good value place to stay in Williamstown. The Williams Inn was always a favorite but it's too expensive now. The 1896 was a great value. The owners are friendly and accomodating. Dinner down the road at the Mill on the Floss is worth the trip.

    We were visiting Williams College, and found the 1896 House to be beautiful for a motel. It has the Pub, with a really nice outdoor patio, very good food and great service. Would easily stay here again.

The 1896 House Brookside and Pondside Country Motels consists of a three building lodging and dining complex located in Williamstown, Mass. This property is located on Scenic Route Seven, and is hidden from the road by tall evergreens. The motels are located less than two miles from Taconic State Park and less than 10 miles from the Waubeeka Golf Links and Taconic Golf Club.

This property is set on 17 acres containing a spring-fed duck pond with a stone footbridge. The 1896 House Brookside and Pondside Country Motels feature complimentary continental breakfasts served in a breakfast room with piped music. A flat-screen television, newspapers and magazines are available in the breakfast room. The "Brookside" motel features mountain cabin décor and rock maple furniture. Lattice footbridges, perennial gardens and a stately gazebo are featured on the grounds. Pets are not allowed.

Guestrooms at the 1896 House Brookside and Pondside Country Motels feature country cottage decor. Each room includes a private bathroom, and select rooms offer two-person jetted tubs. Complimentary wireless Internet is available in each room.
