"You don't pay as much as you should for this place"
Nice hotel, nice staff, quaint little pool in the courtyard, pretty good breakfast in the morning, the room is so big compared to how much I spent per night. I paid a relatively small amount for a room that is the size of an apartment. Two bedroom, two bathrooms, one fully equipped kitchen, one living room, three T.V.s total. A wonderful place, I recommend […] it. It's really close to a lot of day time activities and shops, and about a couple of minutes by taxi to the local night life or if you choose to go to the P. "The lap of luxury"

My first stay at the Ascott was a very pleasant surprise. There service and accomodations for my wife, my wife's cousin and I were first rate. Terrific value for the price. The location was ideal for my wife's first experience at shopping in the Philippines. My only disappointment was the limited availability of a conference room for one of my business […] meetings. "They remembered me from the last visit"
The customer service was incredible! Upon arrival the guy in the front desk remembered me from my last visit (6 months ago) and greeted me by my name! My only negative is that they still charge for internet service. "BEST OF CLASS FIVE STAR"
This is the best place I've booked in years. The service was excellent, the food was top notch and the unit was what I'd expect at upper level Manhatten. I had a two bedroom residence that was completely outfitted in a first class manner - marble foors, tray ceilings, granite counters, spacious rooms, tasteful furnishings, floor to ceiling windows, […] posturpedic bedding, completely soundproof and comfortable throughout. "Good location, nice staff but badly needs updates"
Overall the hotel staff was nice and very polite although there were occasions the wait staff was difficult to find in the dining room. We stayed 18 nights. The Ascott, Makati set up is very much identical to Hilton's Homewood Suites but linens we were provided were old and greyed, it was appalling. we felt insulted to be given towels that looked like […] rags and the linens though clean were stained and had holes. I called guest services twice to correct the injustice. Ascott is not a cheap hotel. We expected nice linens and white towels. The room attendant tried to pick the best looking towels to leave in our studio but the bed linens though changed daily were still dingy. The hallway carpet & room carpet look dirty & smell musty & should be replaced. A section of the bathroom tile was missing grout. It appears to be an unfinished repair job. The dish washing soap provided had been watered down, appeared cloudy & had a fowl smell suggesting it could be growing bacteria. The in room washer & dryer took forever to run. Even when set at 30 minutes, the dryer took over an hour to shut down & did not dry clothes well. The room keys quit working & had to be re-keyed every 2-3 days . I filled out the Ascott survey & was contacted by one of their staff who offered an apology and assured me my experience was not a reflection of the quality of service they provide. "Average hotel experience"
I stayed at Ascott Makati on business for three nights but I must admit that when my stay in Manila needed to be extended one more night I actually moved across the street to the Intercontinental, which was a better experience. My suite at the Ascott was unbelievably large and very comfortable and the gym is very nice. The main problem with this hotel […] is that the front desk won't do anything for you, the security is over the top (it's like living in a police station) and the cafe is a disaster. The couple of times I went in there they didn't actually have the things that were on the menu.
