My stay was very good. The young lady at check-in was extremely friendly and helpful. She answered all my questions regarding logistics of the airport and downtown Amsterdam. The room was clean and comfortable. The airport shuttle was very convenient, and appeared to be much nicer than most other hotel shuttles, from what I could see standing at the […] shuttle pick-up area at airport. THE STAFF AT THE HOTEL WAS OUTSTANDING. THE REASON FOR THE DOWNGRADE RATING WAS DUE TO THE ASHTRAYS IN FRONT OF THE BUILDING ONLY BEING CLEANED ONCE PER DAY. NEEDED TO BE DONE AT MINIMUM OF TWICE PER DAY. ALSO THE CIGARETTE RECEIVING TUBES WERE NOT CLEANED, JUST EMPTIED. SO THE ODOR WAS UNPLEASANT AS WELL AS BEING UNSIGHTLY. THE SECOND COMPLAINT WAS […] WITH THE SHUTTLE SERVICE. I WAS AT THE LOADING AREA AT EXACTLY 8:30am TO ENABLE ME TO ARRIVE AT THE AIRPORT 2 HOURS BEFORE MY FLIGHT TO VIENNA. WHEN I ARRIVED THERE WAS NO BUS VISIBLE. I WAS TOLD BY ANOTHER GENTLEMAN AT THE STOP, THAT THE DRIVER LEAVES WHEN HE WANTS TO, AND HAS DISREGARD FOR THE SCHEDULED DEPARTURE TIMES SET BY THE HOTEL. THAT HE HAD ACTUALLY MISSED A FLIGHT LAST YEAR FOR THE SAME LACK OF SCHEDULE ADHERENCE AND PUNCTUALITY. The Hotel staff was very accomodating and assisted at any opportunity. The Hotel is in a very pituresque part of the City with the River directly accross the street. Shopping Disctict adjoins the hotel on all 4 corners. The only downside experienced at this 1st Class 5* Hotel, was that the Housekeeping Staff has chosen to only empty the Ashtray recepticles […] in front of the Main Entrance only once per day. overall a good stay but not great. we arrived early and was not able to check in our room....however they were able to upgrade to a business room with an additional charge....not convinced that our original room was unavailable. Anyway, it was worth it to get into a room. They advised that room received a turn down service but we did not receive one. […] They gave a free cocktail in the bar. I have stayed 3 times at the Radisson Blu at Schiphol airport and find the pricing fair, rooms modern and clean. The transport services to and from the hotel terminal is excellent, every 30 minutes and takes only 7-9 minutes each way. Stayed after a cruise before returning home. arrived early and able to leave luggage before checking into room. Hotel very nice. Room large and comfortable, staff helpful in providing information about getting to Amsterdam city centre.
