I chose the Hotel Zwanenburg for an overnight stay between flights out of Schipol. The hotel was hospitable, the room was large and exceeded my expectations, and there was a small restaurant as well. In general it is ok. I was not told in advance I should call hotel at night to get the shuttle to the airport and it was frustrating to find the phone at night to call from. The shuttle is available only in every hour but you must call the hotel if you need it and then the shuttle will come. No coffee/tea offered in the room. "Desk attitude"
I would have rated higher, but the attiude of staff at night was someone that they should work on. I asked for drinking water. The attendant opened the bottle which I thought would be complimentary. All of the sudden he asked for 3 euros (less than a 16 oz bottle.) I told him he could keep it! He made a big fuss and said that now he cannot sell it. The Zwanenburg is about a 15-minute drive from the airport, using the shuttle service provided by the hotel. We needed to stay overnight from one incoming flight with a 13-hour layover for a morning flight back to the States the next day. Pick up at the airport and return were both on time. The beds were extremely comfortable and shower/bathroom facilities were clean with everything working properly. It was very quiet all night. "Airport Stop-over hotel"
We used this hotel for one night on the way back from Europe to the US. Although the hotel was 15 to 20 minutes from the Amsterdam airport, the free shuttle van made that a non-issue. In fact, it was fun to stay in a "real" town that wasn't in the middle of the airport. Check out the cheese store in town! There is a restaurant inside the hotel, but we ate in town, which was a better deal. The staff was not very friendly, but they were efficient and this hotel was a very good value. "Just for a pit stop"
We stayed in this hotel because we had an early flight out of Schipol the next morning. We got there late at night and left early in the morning. I would have not chosen it for more than a short night. Too far from Amsterdam city center but about 15 minutes from the international airport, and they had a free shuttle. "Too much hype, too little substance"

Basic but functional. Rooms were in general quite clean, but very dated. The hotel in general would benefit with a 'freshen up'. The feel was quite tired overall. The location wasnt that brilliant - you needed to take a bus and then the metro to get into central Amsterdam. The busses only run until midnight so if your planning to be back late, you will […] need to take a taxi (about 35 euros). The staff were friendly and very helpful. Lots of information available about the attractions and public transport in the hotel lobby (all free). This hotel is good if you are planning on driving to Amsterdam (as we did). The hotel has its own private car park so there is no charge to park your car during your stay. Overall, I would give this hotel a 6/10 because its location and it could do with a lick of paint. Zwannenburg is a hotel good enough for spending the night away from the airport noise, it has free shuttle service (at least during my stay) from and to the airport. I enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Zwanenburg, it is not located near Amsterdam city center but in a quiet and clean town, Zwanenburg. Amsterdam is easily reached by a short bus ride to Sloterdijk train station and then a shorter train journey to Amsterdam centraal station, the journey usually costs between 4 and 6 euros. Near to the hotel are 2 supermarkets […] and a few other shops, cash machine etc. The hotel room was clean and comfortable with a good quality television that had had channels in several european languages. El hotel esta bien. Solo para usarlo una noche antes de viajar. Llegamos un domingo y a los alrededores estaba todo cerrado. Tuvimos que ir al centro combinando colectivo y tranvía.
