Bema is an adorable little hotel in Amsterdam. Little, however, is an operative word. The room we stayed in was quite small (even by European Standards).... Each of the rooms does have a shared bathroom and shower, which I didn't know when booking. It ended up being a non-issue though because the hotel is so small. The service at the hotel was wonderful. Everyone was exceedingly kind and friendly throughout my stay. Their breakfast was unlike any other I've had. Instead of serving assorted pastries in a sterile, communal room, they brought a full breakfast to the door each morning. It meant waking up to a nice breakfast and it actively got us out of bed on time every day. The location was very safe, but far away from the city center. It was about half an hour into the center of Amsterdam. It it a nice walk, but it does rain often in Amsterdam, so you have to hope for good weather. There were some restaurants and shops near the hotel, but not nearly the selection you'd get in Amsterdam Centraal. I'd highly recommend the hotel as long as you don't mind a squeeze and either like walking or you're renting a bicycle. by Sasha F from Los Angeles, CA on 06/25/11
