The free internet worked. The breakfast room was rather crowded, but the choice was good. The hotel is in a fairly quiet location, but this was partially offset by the fact any sound on the same floor was audible in the room. The room was about twice the size of the bed, the bathroom was fine.

The hotel is clean. The hotel room is small. That is everything about the room is small...bathroom, TV and the room itself. However, the staff is great and you are in walking distance of the Van Gogh Museum. Easy access to the mass transit system and if you arrive by car there is parking (36 Euro a day) or the staff will direct you to a parking lot […] that is about a 10 minute walk and only 8 Euro. If you are planning on staying in your room for long periods of time you will not like this hotel. If you are planning on sleeping in the hotel but spending most of your time out and about seeing the city this is the hotel for you..and it does not cost too much. Within 10 minutes walk to the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh museum and the Concertgebouw. Also not far from the Heineken brouwery, but a couple miles from other Amsterdam sites. The 5th floor non-smoking single room was a little small, but that's Europe. The breakfast was sufficient; nothing hot, i.e. eggs, bacon, sausage. The location can't be better. There is a tram stop 100 feet from the hotel's main door, and bus 197, the direct bus to Schiphol Airport leaves from a stop 300 feet away. The Concertgebouw and all the main museums are nearby. The hotel is simple but new, the rooms are small but they are very clean. A+ for service. I found the staff (particularly the receptionists) extremely polite and helpful. When I told them the door on the shower was in need of repair someone came to fix it within a couple of hours (even though I told them in the morning that i wouldn't need the shower again until later that night). D+ for policies. There were two policies […] I would have liked to be aware of prior to my trip. First, I was not allowed to use my fifth floor balcony since it was the top floor and had no railing. I understand the safety issue but you probably shouldn't advertise an amenity and then fail to provide it. The other thing is that they have a very strict "no use of any drug" policy. Again, it is fine if they want to avoid being overrun by "drug tourists," however they should advertise that this is not just a "no smoking in the rooms" policy. I suspect anger at this unexpected policy was what led to a 4:20 am (!) evacuation of the hotel due to the fire alarms being tripped somewhere on the third floor. Worse was they forgot about my wake-up call because they were so busy trying to track down which room set of the alarm so they could levy the $250 fine. Luckily I didn't fall back asleep so I was still able to check out and make my plane in time. I had a wonderful stay other than that; IU just wish they would have made their policies a little clearer at the time of reservation. Read more

We read other reviews of individuals who were very satisfied with the hotel and decided to book a room. Unfortunately we did not have the same experience. The staff was pleasant and helpful when we arrived but the experience went down hill from there. Our very small room was located next to the lobby and the walls were thin enough to hear conversations […] in the lobby. The room was on the ground floor with the hall from the lobby to the garden "aka the smoking area" right outside our room which meant we had the smell of smoke in our room as well as the noise from people opening and closing doors and talking well into the night and early in the morning. Although the room was quite small, as was the bathroom, it was comfortable, clean and everything worked. The hotel is maybe fifty yards from the tram stop which is very convenient and an easy walk to the concert hall and some of the museums. This hotel is overpriced for what you receive, but this is true of all hotels in Amsterdam. Its location is in the quiet museum area (near the Museumplein) close to Vondelpark, but it is next to a tram stop, which makes access to central Amsterdam easy. Bathroom with shower is adequate, but a longer shower shield is needed to keep the rest of the bathroom from getting wet when you take a shower. My single room had a balcony and a comfortable carpet with a colorful design. One bad feature of the rooms: If your neighbors are noisy, you will hear them easily. The hotel was decent; clean and close to tram stops. The only shortcoming was it only have centrally controlled AC. It was cold when I was staying but they couldn't heat it up since the outside temperature was above the minimum temperature for heating. Maybe not ideal for winter travelers.

There where no Balcony, but it was a thousand times better that the other place I stayed. Very nice hotel! Exceeded expectations greatly, looked at so many hotels and they all had pretty poor reviews despite looking good in the photos but this one really stood up to how it described itself. Room was clean, had a wall-mounted tv, it had a comfy and clean bed and the bathroom was nice. There was free wifi and a computer in the reception area […] which was free to use - useful to search for things to do while you're there. The only (small) negatives were that the bath let water drain out slowly (only just noticeable) and the sink didn't drain very well! Not big issues though. Staff were nice and fairly helpful. Didn't realise there was a breakfast area till our last afternoon! (not included though). They let us store our own food in the fridge in there which was helpful. Read more

My partner and I stayed at the Hotel Bronkhurst for two nights over Easter. The hotel was clean, comfortable, not too pricey and had friendly helpful staff. The location was excellent, a few minutes walk from Museumplein, and it was easy to find in a safe area. I had a single room which is very small indeed. However the room is nice and everything is almost new. It's very conveniently situated, just close to Museumplein and Tram 5 and 24 pass by it. The wifi is pretty quick and hassle-free but depends on time. This hotel has only recently opened and you can tell as it is very clean. The staff weren't the friendliest but they gave information sufficiently. The hotel isn't in the city centre but tram line number 5 is right outside and it runs right to all the attractions in Amsterdam. Huone oli siisti ja hyvässä kunnossa. Ovet ja seinät tosin olivat kuin pahvia, ja kaikki ääni läpäisi ne kuin ovi olisi ollut auki. Lähellä oli super market ja todella paljon vaateliikkeitä. Ravintoloita oli harvakseltaan, jonkin verran piti etsiä, että löytyi hyvä paikka syödä.

Het belangrijkste criterium voor een hotel is dat je er kunt slapen. Geluid is de hoofdfactor. Bij Hotel Bronckhorst heb ik om de stilste kamer gevraagd en gekregen. Zelfs daar wordt je vroeg wakker van de eerste persoon in het hotel die naar dee lift gaat. Telkens een hard klakkend geluid als de lift start en stopt. Zodra de eerste gast op je verdieping […] de gang opgaat, is verder slapen uitgesloten. De geluiden van de deursloten zijn hard en voetstappen, kuchen, liftaanroep, et ceteera is net alsof ze naast je staan. Jammer. Vreemd ook dat Expedia geluid niet in de 4 beoordelingscrriteria heeft staan. Beide voor sterke erbetering vatbaar! Read more
