Overall, I liked the hotel; it is a good value for the money. It is in the suburbs, but 10 minutes on the frequent tram and you are in the center, so it wasn't such a big deal for me. I also liked the lounge area where they serve coffee, alcohol and food. The coffee was good, as was the beer, and the food was also pretty good. I didn't like the vibe […] of the skybar (disco redux) so didn't go there. I did use the swimming pool, which was nice but crowded on the weekend. On the down side, although the staff is perfectly pleasant, they don't seem to know very much and are not very responsive. This goes for all staff, from the front desk staff to the wait staff to the staff in spa. For example, I asked the front desk staff to book me a trip to Keukenhof, but no one bothered to tell me that the flowers had not bloomed yet due to a cold and long winter. Other tourists I met later told me that their hotels warned them so they did not go. It would have been nice to know this before I spent 5 hours on a trip there and paid 40 euros. Read more

First trip to Amsterdam and I would not stay anywhere else again! Fantastic place to be on the outskirts of city center. Facilities were immaculate with gorgeous luxury bathrooms and everything you could ask for in a room! Easy to navigate by taking the 1 or 17 tram from Centraal station or off line and a short walk back to the hotel. I walked alone […] at night and early morning in order to get to the tram for early trains and coming in from the bar scene with no feelings that my safety was compromised. For those afraid of being away from the city center the tram ride is peaceful and takes you past beautiful canals and sites. Dont let the 20 min ride to Dam square be the reason you dont book!! Very clean and comfortable. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Tram is less than a 10 minute walk and only about a 10-15 minute ride into central Amsterdam. We loved being just outside of the city, it was nice and quiet so we slept soundly. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful room! Great service. However, you need to take quite a long walk from hotel to tram and with rainy netherland weather it's inconvenient. The center if sthe city! Basically where all sights are and meeting space for tour groups are, is pretty far -- 20 mins or so by tram depending on the tram schedule and traffic.

This was our first European trip. Everything was relied on internet reviews and maps. We took the wrong train from the airport. We were suppose to get off close to the hotel but instead went to Amsterdam Central. We were lost in there for a good hour trying to get back to the right route. We managed to find the tram (you can take the 1 or 17 to Surinameplein) […] and head towards the hotel. It was a good 5-10 min walk. We got to the hotel and we had to climb these long steps to get to the front door w/ our luggage. Very exhauting. We got to the hotel around noon so our rooms were not ready. Bummer. However, we sat by the bar and had lunch. Service and food was good and inviting. The hotel lobby was very nice. There was 2 computers you can use for free for your needs. You step outside to the garden area where you can sit and chill. You can see why they call it a Fashion Hotel. We were so tired and a bit irritated we just wanted our room. Finally, received the hotel key and the room was FABULOUS. It was WORTH the wait. The room key controlled the electricity. Very nifty. After a good long nap, we went to explore the city. The room was very comfortable w/ blackout curtains. We're glad that our hotel location was not within the busy city. We found a coffee shop, De, Prijs, across the street from our tram stop by our hotel. Good quality and service. Everything came to place. The hotel was the icing to the cake. (Get off at Surinameplein, that's the easiest walk). Despite what the GVB website tells you about the convenient night busses, they are not easily accessible. The Netherlands […] had just beaten Brazil in the World Cup when I arrived and I wanted to go back into the city to meet a friend and join the celebration, but there was no way to get there. After hours the surrounding area is not a friendly place. I was very uncomfortable. The hotel is too far away from the city. My days were cut off at midnight when the trams stopped running. Very inconvenient. Also, the lady at reception when I arrived was very short with me and literally pointed me in the wrong direction when I asked her how to get somewhere. We've just come back from a weekend break. The weather was rubbish - rained all 3 days but we had a nice romantic escape nonetheless thanks to this hotel. We had a late evening flight booked so I had contacted the hotel a day before whether late check in wound be okay. When we arrived past midnight, the check in was fast and front desk staff / security […] were friendly. We didn't have a proper dinner whilst traveling and bought takeaway burgers from the aiport on route - the hotel staff kindly warmed up our food & provided cutlery. Upon entering our room - we found a bottle of champange on ice, chocolates and strawberries waiting for us for our anniversary which was a nice touch. The room itself was big, clean, bathroom shower was great and bath tub big enough for two! There are a few supermarkets and resturants nearby and the hotel offer bycycle hire - although tram is close by to get into the city. We ate a couple of times at resturants in the city which are pricey but okay. We also ate at the hotel resturant which was good food, generous portions and quite reasonably priced. The Sky bar was a great place to hang out on a cold rainy Friday night with a casual / friendly atmosphere, good music and drinks. Overall I would recommend this hotel whilst visiting Amsterdam - I just wish the weather is better next time we visit! Read more

The hotel is on the side of a motorway and a long way from picturesk Amsterdam. The staff are rude , sarcastic and feel like they are on a mission to make your stay as terrible as humanly possible. The term fashion hotel is a complete joke, nothing about the hotel is fashion orientated, there are a few mannequins in reception but they are poorly dreased in the least fashionable attire one can imagine. The hotel also offers a pool and gym but it's run by an outside organisation who don't treat hotel guests well , on our visit they were hostile and confrontational and I have never been treated so poorly. Ideal if you want a cheap doss house but you get what you pay for and in this instance it's worth paying more. Worked perfectly for a quick trip to A'dam. Could be closer to the centre, but tram network is great, so no problems. Hotel could be clearer which tram stop is most convenient when you are first arriving with luggage, but again, not a big concern.
