"Disappointing"
The room is small and also stinky, bed felt like it was falling apart, and the bathroom (though very cute) it was built weird. When you shower the water overflows all over the floor. The Staff was not very friendly but no one in Amsterdam really is.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Hotel okay, but rude staff"
The hotel itself was fine, but the staff were rude and unhelpful. WIfi was not reliable and went out while I was there. Late one night the fire alarm went off, but stopped once everyone was downstairs. When everyone piled into the lobby nobody bothered to mention what was going on. The Best Western Apollo was in a good location and that is the only good thing about it. The room was more like a room at a hostel. I thought the bathroom was great until the water didn't drain in the shower and I stepped out of the shower and the whole bathroom was flooded. One of our two rooms was so small it literally looked like a cruise ship cabin. both rooms were much smaller than the pictures shown on the hotels.com site. "Cheese falling from the heavens"
Hotel was nice was impressed with it for the money but Rooms where alittle small but I did get a basic room. Asked reception for an extra blanket as the first night we was alittle bit cold BUT AFTER ASKING TWICE NEVER RECIVED ONE so that brassed me off abit. Was alittle noisy to but hey ho you are in Amsterdam most of the guessed would have been in […] a state. Although in the room next door to me i think somebody took it all alittle to far as when the maid was cleaning there room i happened to be walking passed and witnessed first hand the maid violently vomiting into a bed sheet. Be careful not to have a cigerett outside or you might get a block of cheese chucked at you from the top floor of the hotel missed me by an inch I was lucky it hit the ground with a thud I would have easily knocked me unconscious. "Cold and smokey"
Our room was freezing (even with the heater cranked up to maximum) and even though it was a non smoking room there was a distinct smoke smell in the room, coming from people smoking right outside the window. It was very noisy in the morning in the corridor aswell - staff yelling at each other was my guess. Hotel was OK level but the location was quite a walk away from the main attractions. Museums are close by but most of them were closed for renovations and nothing else was close by. Our room was on the street level and we had to keep curtains closed so people wouldn't see in. Also the toilets walls were a bit see-through. "Location good, but don't expect to sleep"
When I arrived there had been a problem with their booking system and they were overbooked. I was to go to a neighbouring hotel around the corner, which turned out to be a taxi/tram ride away. I declined as I was travelling on my own with plans to walk to a restaurant. It also turned out that some of the details of my booking was missing, including […] the fact that I had paid extra for a double, not a single bed. They did find me a room, but it was noisy being right next to the road. I finally dropped off in the early hours, but I was woken just before 4am by 3 loud blasts from some bell/siren, which were much much louder than any of the emergency services sirens that went past, but the hotel had no record of anything untoward. However, from the noise/movement from neighbouring rooms, I was not the only one who was woken. The mattress badly needed to be replaced - there were hollows where previous occupants had lain - so it was very hard to get comfortable. The room was small, and the bathroom so compact you had to shuffle around the toilet to get to the shower. A note for couples, in the room I had, there was a reading light each side of the bed. however, either both lights were on or both lights were off. They could not be switched on individually. Staff seem to view customers as an enemy, except one very nice young lady at reception who should be the manager (they know who she is). Bar service is a big problem, you can purchase snacks from an open kiosk, but be careful they will chase after you down the corridor and ask if you “have paid for that” quite embarrassing moment in front of other customers […] especially when you have already paid. "close to all must-see sights"
Thank you for asking me to review. The hotel is in great loction, this is my second visit after our visit on May 2010 . The service was poorer, the receptionsit lady was noirotic, although there was a collegue, a gentelman, who compensated her rude and un-professional attitude. The room was clean, at least at first sight, but when we moved the beds […] to pick up somthing we realised that the carpet underneath was not cleaned for long time. On our first 10 minutes to the room we had rude knocks on the door (with a metal coin, I assume) and before we even managed to answer a staff memeber opened the door, banging it with the shower door, and accusing: "why did not you answer?". We had another disturbing knock on the door at 10:15am from the room service lady, shouting: "room service!". It might be that we are not the type of guests for 2 or 3 stars hotels but as a warm advise from someone who spend over 60 days a year in hotels I can suggest that the Apollo would have been much more successful had it trained his staff to a higher level of service. "First trip to amsterdam"
we were allocated room 26 just a doorway away from reception, we could hear the phone ringing constantly, the staff spoke quite loud especially the males and could hear them from 5am onwards, also a shocking noise from 5am onwards like someone turning on a tap above us went on for ages, the hotel had food on the menu but did none when requested. the […] room was very small when you opened the bathroom room door it banged into the bed. location wise was great but i would not go back to this hotel. On my last visit I had an excellent room overlooking the canal. On this visit I was allocated a semi-underground room with a "view" of people's feet passing along the sidewalk. Se till att ni inte får ett av rummen i källaren. Det är bullrigt på nätterna, vi fick en natt med störd sömn pga av att hotellets tvättstuga ligger i samma korridor och dånar. Det värsta var att duschen var så skitig med mögel att jag kunde skriva mitt namn i smutsen. Vidrigt. När vi klagande dagen efter fick vi ett nytt rum direkt, de frågade knappt […] vad som var problemet. Så jag misstänker att det känner till att källarrummen är okänliga. En annan sak att tänka på är att toadörrarna i rummen är av genomskinligt glas, så vill man var i fred vid toabesök så får man gå till en toalett i korridoren. Urkokat. Das Hotel liegt recht zentral und ist gut als Ausgangspunkt für Trips in die Stadt. Personal freundlich. Sauberleit des Zimmers lässt zu wünschen übrig! Wände dreckig. Det stora minuset var receptionister som tittar på oss som att vi är något som katten släpat in. (Tur att vi bokade i förväg) Detta för att vi har backpackat runt i Europa och vill ha ett sista bra övernattande. Otrevliga och nedlåtande. Rummet var inget speciellt, dusch som inte är tät så vatten rinner ut över hela golvet, själva toaletten och duschen […] som var i ett utrymme av en skrubb (gäller att inte vara för bred alltså). Reservamos um quarto twin de luxo para 3 adultos. 地図ではｱﾑｽﾃﾙﾀﾞﾑ中央駅から遠く感じますが、徒歩数分でトラム（２番・５番）乗り場ですから、不便は感じませんでした。それより、国立博物館間近で、コンセルトヘボウにも近いので、これらめあての宿泊客が多かったです。シャワー・トイレ・ベッドはコンパクト。ロビーの２つの共用PCは、日本語フォントがないので文字化けしてだめですが、無線LANが無料でつながります。回線を取り合う時間帯をさければ、インターネットもできます。フロント担当者の英語が早口で、事務的なことを除けば、コストパフォーマンスは良好。前払いしていても、観光客用のタックスが2.5ユーロかかりました。Genuine Hotels.com guest review
