"Nice Hotel Landmark"

"Good value"
The hotel is well located for most of the attractions. It is looking slightly dated now, but everything was clean and the staff very pleasant. I took a club room and was treated very well. "Comfortable & convenient stay in the heart of city"
The hotel is practically in the heart of the city, within walking distance to the Heritage Sites, right adjacent to 3 joining shopping malls, and next to the long distance bus terminal. Although the traffic is heavy, we can hardly hear it in our room on the 10th floor. The room deco is a bit 'old styled', an update will definitely bring new face to […] the room but even at current level, the room is clean, spacious & comfortable with big king size bed and a 2 seater sofa. Amenities are good and service is very friendly. The hotel's car park is manned 24/7, a sense of security is there when I drive in to park at wee-hour. Had a great time. Choice of hotel was great. Could walk to various types of malls (high end and mid range to budget shopping). Walking distance to some of the good eats. So central that direct bus to Penang hill (only bus) is literally next door. Also cinemax in First Avenue Mall is just next door, so my teenage kids got to catch a late Saturday night […] movie too! They also loved the fact that there was free wifi access in room and within hotel. Wasn't affected by construction noise opposite as we were out in the day and it was the long weekend public hols. "A good hotel to stay in Penang"
We had 9 nights in the hotel. The beds were excellent and the room was clean but the cleaning was not always done properly. The staff was mainly very kind and ready to help. "Old but conveniently located hotel"
It is an old hotel, seriously in need of an upgrade and the addition of more facilities. The hotel room needs a lot of upgrading, including the bathroom (no detachable shower hose, for e.g.) and the mattress (a bit hard). The basement carpark also needs a lot of upgrading (there is no lift to the carpark, only stairs for e.g.). The hotel has a great reception area. It is very impressive and welcoming. The rooms were perfect for families and business travelers. Based on a previous customer's review we booked a club room and oh was it worth every penny! All Club rooms have access to the club lounge facilities - lounge, internet access, breakfast in quiet surroundings, attentive and plentiful staff, tea/coffee etc available free any time of the day and the best feature were the cocktails and canapes 6-8 pm every […] night. We were only two nights at the Traders Hotel and had to leave very early. Everything was smooth and well done by the hotel's personnel. The room was fairly big and very clean. Breakfast was extraordinary with a large selection of dishes (western and asian). The shuttle to the Golden Sands Resort in Batu Ferringhi was perfect. They even dropped us […] in a different location than the hotel and we could see some more temples when we came back from B.F. All personnel was very fluent in English, gentle and very helpful (taxi fares, distances, opening hours, etc.). The location of the hotel is fair, at the limit of the "Buffer Area", at walking distance of the center of Georgetown. I assume there are other good hotels closer to the touristic areas, but this one was close enough to move around walking. Besides, behind the hotel there is a large bus station.
