Le Diamant attracts visitors to the rock that shares its name--a rock that rises out of the sea 2.5 miles off the coast and provides sanctuary to many bird species. Once used by the British as an armed fort, it now provides a haven for the more adventurous scuba diver. Attractions in town include the Gaoule house standing beside an old mill and a shell museum.

I stayed at Hotel le Diamant last week. Do not go there under circumstance. I just got back from Martinique on tuesday last week and it is by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The hotel is extremely far from everything including the airport (about 45 minutes). The room smelled extremely dingy. The staff is very rude and not at all helpful. […] I speak both english and french and that didn't even make a difference. There is absolutely nothing to do around the hotel. You are not allowed to receive visitors after 6pm. Very odd and very strange.... Read more
