The hotel completely lived up to its expectation. We were expecting friendly, family-like treatment (unlike the "factory" approach from the biggies) and that is exactly what we got. The staff at the reception were extremely helpful (one of them even offered her personal umbrella when it was raining). The room was clean and well maintained. The breakfast […] was adequate with personalised service from the manager making sure we were comfortable. Location is perfect with very close access to sliema ferry and shopping malls. The room that we were earlier booked into had some issues with the mattress and we were given a replacement room (of a higher quality) without any increase in the price. Perhaps an improvement point would be the aircon, which for some reason worked either intermittently or did not work, however it did not affect us as the weather was quite pleasant. Read more

Overall this is a good hotel. I was there on vacation and this hotel was sufficient. The staff was very friendly and helpful (however, be aware that most of the staff are interns from continental europe trying to learn the hotel business, so your experience may vary depending on the crop of interns they have). The rooms are nice and comfortable, but […] a bit dirty (moldy tiles in the shower, tv remote was just discustingly grimey and dirty). Rooms have airconditioning which in hot days is very nice. The free wifi internet connection is in the lobby, but not in the rooms; however, I discovered that if you are staying on first floor (as I was), you can get wifi in your room from the lobby router. So if that is important to you choose a first floor room. The beach club is nice but beware that the pool is very salty as I believe the source of water for the pool is the sea water. The location is very good. It's a quick walk to the shopping and the waterfront. There are a number of restaurants and bars, as well as boat tours, water taxis, and boat charters within walking distance. Overall a good hotel due to location and staff, but not a great hotel. I recommend it if you are planning on just using the hotel to wind down and sleep, and not much more. If you plan to use your hotel as a resort, then I would not recommend this hotel for you. My boyfriend and I have just returned from a week's stay at the Plevna Hotel and had a lovely time. The rooms are comfortable and clean, with everything we needed (air con, mini fridge). The rooms are far from soundproof (we could hear everything in the corridor), but there was nothing that caused us any problems. We were staying on a bed and breakfast […] basis and the breakfast in the hotel was great - a buffet with English breakfast and continental breakfast - plenty of choice and it always set us up for the day. It was really comfortable and we felt that, for what we were paying, we did very well. We didn't use the beach club, but we did swim in the sea nearby. The hotel's down a side street but right near the sea and near a good location for swimming. There's a bus stop for buses to Valletta at the end of the road and it's also only a few minutes' walk in the other direction to Sliema Ferries, where lots of boat trips leave from, along with more buses. There are good restaurants along the seafront between Sliema and St Julian's, which are all well priced and, in our experience, serve good food. This was a great base for exploring Malta. Read more

My stay at the Plevna was very pleasant. There was a 24 hour reception and the cleaniness of the room was very good. Lots of amenities provided in the hotel room: fridge, kettle, wine glasses, cups, tea and coffee.

I last stayed at the Plevna Hotel over 40 years ago, but with the demolition of the nearby Crown Plaza this is now the most conveniently located hotel in Malta for me. The bar could do with cheering up, and with air conditioning but given that there are plenty of alternatives locally this was not a problem. We went to Malta for a friend's wedding. Most of the wedding party stayed at the Meridian but we went for 10 days so that was a little out of our price range. Depending on the exact location of your room you should probably pack ear plugs if you're a light sleeper as some rooms can be a bit noisy from the traffic outside and in others you get disturbed by people talking right outside your room, but these kind of things are definitely not limited to this hotel. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it to anyone on a bit of a budget. (Free wi-fi in the lobby as well.) Read more

Given the 3* rating of this hotel, it represents excellent value. Yes the building is slightly run down in parts and could be done with a facelift but the hotel was very clean and comfortable. Our room was spacious with everything we needed and was cleaned thoroughly every day of our two week stay. The breakfast wasn't amazing quality but was perfectly acceptable and there was such a huge selection of food everyone would find something they liked. The location is also ideal for the shops, restaurants and waterfront of Sliema and for accessing the rest of Malta. The Plevna hotel was very close to Sliema bus and ferry terminal, also to The Point a brand new shopping complex. The hotel offered very comfortable accomodation at a very competative price. First we got room 121, which had a bad smell. The receptionist first offered to fix it with a spray, but we asked if we could have another room. We were them given room 501, which did not smell, but the double bed was much smaller and we had to share the linen. the worst part about the room was that it was close to the elevator, which was really noisy […] when it went up and down and when it stopped it was with a loud sound. Helt ok hotell. Det enda minuset var att poolerna inte finns på hotellet, man är tvungen att gå en bra bit från hotellet ner mot havet och där ligger poolerna. Hotellet har en härlig solterass på taket. Skön säng och rejäl frukost.

L'ensemble était d'un bon rapport qualité/prix, mais la salle de bain était en mauvais état, sentait le moisi (les sanitaires aurait mérité d'être changés ainsi que le meuble sous le lavabo qui était moisi). Dommage, car sinon la chambre était agréable et propre.L'hôtel était calme, mais la rue bruyante à cause de travaux commençant tôt le matin.

Die Lage des Hotels ist gut um die Insel zu erkunden. Bushaltestellen und Fähranleger nach Valetta sind in der Nähe, ebenso Cafés und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Neben dem Hotel ist noch ein Hochhaus im Bau, sodaß Baustellenlärm möglich ist. Mein Zimmer lag aber recht günstig und die Fenster hielten einiges ab, sodaß es nicht so störte. Das Zimmer hatte […] einen kleinen Balkon, war geräumig und sauber, meistens erstaunlich ruhig und das Bett hatte eine vernünftige Matratze. Beim Bad musste man ein paar Abstriche machen, war aber noch ok. Die Klimaanlage funktionierte leider nicht. Mitte Juni war es übrigens schon ziemlich heiß, für Sightseeing würde ich eher Frühjahr oder Herbst empfehlen. Das Frühstück war für meine Ansprüche gut. Das Abendessen hätte besser sein können (immer Kartoffeln, Gemüse sehr fade, wenig Soßen, geringe Salatauswahl) und die Bedienungen etwas engagierter. Man sollte übrigens unbedingt wissen, dass man an den Tisch geführt wird. Der Beach-Club war nicht schlecht, etwas störend war die Radio-Beschallung. Alternativ kann man sich auch z. Vi trivdes på Plevna. Hotellet og betjeningen var veldig hyggelige. Fellesfrokostene var bra. Hotellet generelt var rent. Ikke noe spesielt fin utsikt, men det lå veldig bra til, med kort vei til havet på begge sider, restauranter og havna hvor alle bussene sto. Vi vurderte først å bo i Valetta, men etter en uke i Sliema med tre turer til Valetta fant […] vi ut at det virket mye bedre å bo i Sliema. Dørene til rommet og verandaen var veldig tynne og vi våknet ofte av biler og folk i gangene med kofferter etc. Vi syntes det luktet av urin fra toalettet, og lukten ble verre og verre. Da jeg kikket bak toalettet, nest siste dagen vi var der, så jeg at det var gult og ekkelt, tydelig ikke vasket fra forrige gjestene. Ellers så det rent ut på hotellrommet, så mulig at dette var en liten glipp. Madrassene var veldig harde, kjæresten min likte de - jeg fikk vondt i ryggen av de. Det eneste som plagde oss var de tynne dørene og toalettet. Das Hotel Plevna liegt in einer Seitenstraße, aber in 5 Minuten ist man an der Promenade von Sliema mit den Busstationen, Bootsanlegestellen und Bars/Restaurants. Der Tower Supermarkt ist nur 3min entfernt... Leider wird gerade viel auf Malta und auch in Sliema gebaut (die Arbeiten beginnen vor 7 Uhr), so dass ruhige Nächte nur mit Ohropax möglich waren! […] Dies gilt aber entsprechend auch für einige andere Hotels :-( Die Zimmer sind sauber und gemütlich, wobei ich empfehle eines mit Balkon zu nehmen, da es auch Zimmer ohne Außenwände gibt ;-) Wenn möglich, sollten sie auch den 4. oder 5.
