GREAT HOTEL!!! now on to the basics.. very quiet and cannot hear the Coco Bongo. I have stayed here twice and always stayed in the back and never heard a thing. Pool area is nice but no afternoon / toward evening sun tanning. Sun is blocked by buildings. This is a great hotel and would definitely stay at again. There are not alot of amenities. There […] is no coffee offered although there is a coffee pot if you want to bring coffee and water to make it. there is a restaurant next door but dont expect a grand buffet like at the resorts. Stay there last week in november. Great hotel and Great staff. No noise at all from coco bongo. Some road noise, but thats to bee expected from any hotel on fifth or any where in that area on the streets. Positive things to say - Great staff, great location, not hardly any noise at all, nice rooms, comfortable beds, nice landscape, nice pool but have […] to hit at right time of day to catch any sun. negatives - no coffee in room, just coffee pot. "Good hotel but choose your room wisely"
First of all, there is a bar near the pool that it is a stretch to call a "lounge". So don't expect a lounge of any sort but you can order drinks (at American prices, of course). Second, this hotel is located one block off of 5th Ave (the main tourist street) but it sits catty-corner to a club called Coco Bongo that is reeeeeally loud at night. You […] MUST get a room on the quiet side of the hotel or you will not sleep well. We stayed on the quiet side and could not hear it at all. However, we spoke to a couple of other hotel guests who said the noise was terrible. The rooms and grounds of this hotel are very nice. I never hang out by the pool when I'm in the Caribbean but this pool area is so serene that I found myself there a lot. The hotel contracts with a place on the beach for beach chairs but, if they fill up, you are out of luck. Also, it is not the best stretch of beach because all of the fishing and snorkeling boats dock right there so the view isn't great and there are few open entrances into the water that don't occur between boats. Big bummer there. Overall, this is a great spot just off of the tourist area, near or within walking distance to Mega (think Walmart) and various restaurants. People have complained about noise in their reviews because of the hotels location across from CocoBongo, if this is the case, don't go to Mexico, I mean we all go there to have an amazing and entertaining time day and night, right? The resort is beautiful and quaint. The rooms are extremely roomy and kept very clean and they even come by for turn down […] services :-) if you are in your room and fall asleep to watching a great movie from their wonderful selection, you cant hear anything from outside and you wake up to the beautiful sound of birds and amazing blue sky and glass mosaic pool in the resorts oasis! I have been to Playa 5 times now and have stayed at a few all inclusive and boutique hotels, we even stayed at the Porto Real our first 4 days and we felt more in the tropics and at home @ the Magic Blue, we love this place and can't wait to go back! Great Hotel. Great Location. Nice pool. Nice bartenders. No kids( i love kids but it was a nice break). Awesome beach club access. Breakfast buffet could use some work. The food was fair at best with very little variety.The beach club is wonderful except for the food.I had a lamb burger and my wife had a salad . It seems crazy but both were horrible […] and expensive(for mexico prices) . I suggest keeping it simple. Playa is beautiful and has more of an international crowd and better looking crowd then most other mexican vacation destinations. I have been to Cabo, Cancun, Puerto Vallarta and Playa all within the last year. We met wonderful people from around the world which was a nice change. For instance we had dinner with a couple from Germany, 2 British girls, 1 Venezuelan girl , a New Yorker who lives in Colorado(me) meanwhile eating Thai food in Mexico(Babes Noodle Bar). Also if you like going out at night there are endless clubs and restaurants all within a couple blocks of Magic Blue. This may be nitpicking but Magic Blue could use an outdoor shower at the pool and the rooms could use a couple more towel hooks. Also the key chains for the room keys are absurd mine fell apart daily leaving little glass beads all over town. This is the second time I spent my vacation here, and the reason is that the design of entire area is done very carefully with the attention to your comfort. With an excellent landscape of the interior yard with pool and bar, which is the focus of entire composition, the groups of units are displayed with a comfortable distance to each other, being […] oriented with their terraces toward the interior yard. The usage of local materials assures a worm familiar filing. Being located very central in the middle of commercial area, you have the convenience, but not the noise associated with this. When we walked into the common area of the hotel, I was very impressed. For the price, this was an unexpected delight. It was quiet and serene which was surprising given the location. It felt like a tropical vacation with the thatched roofs and pool area. We went during off season and felt like we had the place to ourselves. Very peaceful and quiet. "Tre nätters vistelse i Cancun"
Efter en utdragen incheckning (personalen kunde inte bekräfta vår bokning) fick vi äntligen se vårt rum. Servicen vid receptionen var urusel, men i övrigt var servicen helt ok. Första kvällen möts vi av en flaska mouserrande och jordgubbar på vårt rum när vi kommer upp till rummet...får dock senare info i receptionen att detta var ett misstag och senare […] kommer nån och ska hämta tillbaka flaskan. Lite av en besvikelse! Maten var ok, frukostbuffen bättre. Av de vattenaktiviteter som skulle finnas tillgängliga att låna (t.ex. windsurfing)´så fanns inget utom kayak. Det fanns en del sjöborrar vid stranden så man fick se upp med vart man gick (vet dock ej om de var giftiga). Vårt rum hade ingen balkong men dock en oslagbar utsikt över havet och downtown. Rummet kändes rent, men undantag för glömda smutsiga handdukar, ingen schampoo m,m, för än sista natten etc. Kan för övrigt tillägga att resans (3 v) första kackerlackor sågs på detta hotell.
