Bed wasn't very comfortable but everything else was perfect (and for this price you can't expect a fancy bed anyway). Went in late March and didn't need airconditioning. I was really pleasantly surprised by Hotel Belmar. Clean, cute, charming, cheap and only a few blocks from the beach and the noise of the bigger tourist districts. My husband and I had a wonderful experience at the Hotel Belmar Galeria. It isn't super fancy, but it is a very clean, cute and affordable hotel, with a great location in Puerto Vallarta...very close to the river-walk and to the ocean boardwalk. It was a nice home-base to explore the city.

Everything was wonderful. The bed was a box spring so it was a little hard, but it keeps the room bug free. Bring an extra pillow to put under your hip. The staff is friendly, but do not know English well. The soap smells really nice, but bring shampoo and conditioner if you want it. Sometimes the water takes a little bit to heat up.

We had a great 7 night stay at Hotel Belmar. The staff were kind and helpful. Breakfast of cookies, juice and coffee was available every morning, and jugs of drinking water were available on every floor. From the 4th floor we had a view over the city with glimpses of the ocean. There are plenty of bars, restaurants, and taco stands on the block.
