It's a very nice hotel. Super clean, attractive modern rooms....good location...friendly staff. Only downside is that the street outside which lines the waterfront is really noisy and the bed was pretty hard. Other than that it's a very nice place and is well-run. "Great Hotel"
The staff at the Bahia is great. They do anything they can to make your stay comfortable - suggestions for dinner or ice for your drinks. The view from the belcany is beautiful. They now have chairs and a table on the belcany. We wished there would have been a refrigerator in the room. Breakfast consisted of coffee, fresh OJ, fruits, breads, yogurt […] and cereal. This was more than enough to start our days. We ate at the hotel most mornings. We rented a golf cart for most of our stay. It was convenient to go to the beach. A private beach with lounge chairs would be nice. If you have drinks on the beach, they let you use thier chairs and umbrellas for free. The hotel provides beach towels. We also had dinner in the south section of the island, away from the hectic north end. We had some fantastic dinners. Try Roosters or Belitos on the main street for breakfast or lunch. "Conveinient location."
We have been to the island several times for day trips, but decided to do an overnight. The hotel is about 2 blocks from where the ferry docks. There are alot of options for food and drink as well as beaches within walking distance. We rented a golf cart and toured the island during the day (use the lock on your rented cart, ours was "used" by a local […] while we were at a beach bar), but walked the down town at night. Stayed at the Bahia Chac Chi the end of April, wonderful staff, clean and very confortable beds and could walk to the Soggy Peso, great Thatched bar 15 min walk past the airport on the right. When we first came over on the ferry from Cancun we were excited to see that this hotel was literally a 2 minute walk and very doable even with the luggage.
