The Cancun Hotel Zone rests on a slit of land bound by a lagoon and the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. Sunseekers crowd the white-sand beaches. At night, the action moves to the restaurants, clubs, and bars that line Boulevard Kukulcán, the area’s main artery. This road passes by the El Rey ruins, believed to be a king’s tomb.

"Ok Omni"
We thought the pool area/chairs were too tight. We spent no time at the pool. Not enough chairs on the beach - just wanted to relax and felt like we couldn't until we staked out a chair. Great beach for body surfing. There were no other water activities like we thought - unless you booked & paid for an excursion and went off site. Easy to take bus into […] town. Food was ok - ate off property every night. Beach restaurant was decent and easy for lunch while on the beach. Villa was the trip saver - lots of room for our family but the 3rd room would not cool & was very hot. Kids weren't allowed in the hot tubs so that was a bummer too. Staff at hotel was nice & helpful. Grateful for tips no matter how small. Didn't like wearing the wristbands for the all inclusive. Avoided our 'personal concierge' since they really want to just get you to sit through their vacation club presentation and book excursions through them, understandable & fine if you are not comfortable finding those things on your own. "Just OK"
This was a short notice vacation, so we could not find anything better, that said - it was NOT cheap. There was nothing really good about the hotel or our stay, it was just OK. Don't plan on swimming in the ocean, it is always rough and red flags (do not swim) are always up. We requested a king size bed, but they didn't have any rooms available so […] they put us in a double queen, though size felt more like a double. Room was spacious, but had a well used feel to it. Fixtures showed signs of corrosion, and ceilings looked like they had a leak or two and were patched. Wifi signal strength was abysmal, but enough to check email from time to time. Don't count on streaming anything... Food was not bad, but even for a short stay (4 nights) it got to be pretty monotone. There is really only one real restaurant on the property (Italian). Furthermore, for our 4 night stay we could only eat at the real restaurant one time, and this required reservations. They lost our reservations, and asked me to go find the paper slip back in the room. Good thing I found it... but didn't enjoy running around instead of having dinner. Other food options include sushi with very limited selection, Mexican, and some sort of a grill (also Mexican). Entertainment consisted of trivia during the day by the pool and more trivia or sing-along at night. In other words plan to entertain yourself. They do organize night club excursions on some nights, but overall entertainment program is nonexistent. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"not worth the money you spend"
not much variety of food.only one restaurant available most of time. Not enough chairs to sit at beach.all of them are taken by 7am every day. most are broken.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Go to another hotel"
The staff was wonderful, very nice and helpful. There should be more chairs available on the beach and more than just the lobby bar open at night. I would recommend not having the vendors set up almost every night around the pools. Running the vendor gauntlet each night was not fun.Genuine Expedia guest review
Friendly and helpful staff in the restaurants and inside the hotel, however pool staff were slow and not very helpful. The hotel is a bit out of date, and I wish there was an outside lounging area as the indoor bar is rather dark.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Overall it was okay..."
The hotel was okay....It was our first trip to this particular resort. It needs some maintenance. The bathroom little light was going on and off all the time....It's pretty hard to miss that. My kids complained about the sheets having this bad odor.....and it did. The staffs were not very courteous in Pool Grill and actually all of the outdoor restaurant […] except Pina Colada. I was very disappointed by the manner that they served toward the customers. They just were not trained properly from the basic.... We were in Beach Palace the last time we went and the service were great... However the beach scene were beautiful. Also my kids were very happy at the Kids club. But they definitely need to upgrade the service and do a better maintenance of the place. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

This is our second stay at the Omni. Last year we gave the hotel an 11 out of 10...this year it seems they have made some changes and they rate a 6 out of 10. Good things: Room Service is very prompt and correct Maid service is wonderful Pools are great and upkept well Bad things: Check in and Check out were not smooth and quick Miscommunications between […] staff as far as room charges/ account credits Service at Beach restaurant was AWFUL Certain restaurants are only open on certain days...leaving few options on some nights Service in lobby bar was not great Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Average Stay"
We stayed at the OMNI Cancun 10 years ago, and it was great, food okay even at the Davinci restaurant. Now Jan 1,2012 disappointing, the rooms and staff were okay, the food was not up to par, and the Italian restaurant was pretty bad. We seniors found it very difficult to access the restaurants, pools and the beach because of all the stairs. The hotel […] areas are on multi-levels, even the Gym & Spa are in front of the Hotel, down a staircase of more than 50 steps. There was no game room for kids or seniors. The staff was okay and helpful, but the resort needs to be updated. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
""Not Impressed""
I stayed at Omni in the beginning of August and I was not impressed with the hotel at all. The room was not clean and I saw cockroach inside the bathroom. The phone did not work most of the time so I could not call housekeeping when I needed to.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice property, clean hotel, poor front desk customer service."
The hotel room was not ready on time. We were given the wrong room after waiting an hour. We were told that we could not have to room that we originally requested because they did not have one available. After talking to everyone at the front desk we had to demand to see a manager. The manager came and said she actually did have the requested room but […] it would be a longer wait if we wanted it. I did not appreciate the lies and the waiting for our room. Also they did not honor our dinner reservations at the hotel restaurant even though we called in advance. These 2 experiences ruined an otherwise nice property. The other staff were very nice, the spa was nice, food was good. Overall happy but its a shame they did not have a better front desk. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Comida Ruin"
